I think my problem is I get really nervous about it and once the tattoo is started I start to loose color in my face. So I'm just curious as to what you do.

Ok here is the tips I think will help you out. I have found this helps a lot with around 100 hours of work give or take, this is what has helped me the most.
1 most importantly breathe. I found the best thing to do is control your breathing this will help with pain and overall experience.
2 make sure to eat a small meal before hand the drops in blood sugar or nervousness from hunger is no good.
I like to eat something before nothing huge I don't like to be uncomfortably full but enough to where I'm not hungry. I'm always ravenous afterwards, so I get my big meal then to celebrate. Be careful on what you eat again you don't want an upset stomach.
3 keep a drink close by (non alcoholic) I like water the most.
4 don't drink alcohol before this thins your blood and could ruin the tattoo. Dont take pain killers or muscle relaxers they really don't help.
I have never drank before but have seen what happens. I did try taking pills for one session it doesn't really do anything for the pain.
5 if your tired or not feeling well have a headache, Dont go. Your better off rescheduling.
6 dress as comfortably as possible
7 put your phone on mute
8 listen to music you like
9 try to put your self in a good calm mood before going
That's about all I got right hopefully this can make your experience more better.
