Default Connecticut School Shooting

what the heck is the world coming to.. the death penalty needs to stick around just for fucks like this. even though one shooter was killed at the scene..

----------

27 killed.. 14 of those were children. i know this was at a school but this is one more case just like aurora where anyone with a CCP could have stopped this.

update, 18 were children

You think an Elementary school would have someone near by with a CCP? I just read up on that article, disgusting.

Either way lets not worry about your guys' opinion on gun control for a minute and think about the family's and children who don't get to live their life anymore. R.I.P all those innocent people.

This is terrible. But in the aftermath look out for the gun control freaks to come alive.

yes, sadly it wont make people go out and get CCPs, but it will have an effect on ammo. guy had over 100 rounds on him, so be ready for the increasing restriction laws.

I would imagine at least one teacher/janitor/adult who worked there has their concealed carry but not legally allowed to bring it on school property..

yes, why i posted that yes this is a school so that was probably unlikely anyone had a concealed carry on them.

Nobody knows exactly what could have happened if individuals were allowed to carry. A janitor outside taking out trash or a teacher on the other end of the building can only be in one place at one time and may not have been able to do anything. Also, the death penalty does not prevent others from "not committing a crime", and our justice system has repeatedly shown that prisons and the current form of punishment/rehabitation do nothing to rehabilitate or deter crime. Every day the news reports on some of the worst of the worst individuals in society. Personally, I don't understand why schools are "open" to the public because once classes are started, there is really no reason that almost anyone can simply walk-in a building unannounced. Why can't schools be locked during school hours with a doorbell, so that everyone has to announce his/her presence instead of being able to enter at free will?

Putting in a door bell isn't actually a bad idea. But it will not prevent situation like this completely. Sadly, There is no way to prevent a situation like this. If some one want a to go kill a bunch of kids they will. However there are ways of lessening the number of casualties. The main one being, allow licensed, trained concealed weapons to be carried. Or offer special training to teachers and other faculty to allow them to carry a gun at school for the protection of the students. Maybe even an increases salary for those with the training who carry.

your right. the sad thing is, lets say the princaple had a cc carry, or even a holster in his desk. He may have been able to do something. BUT, we dont have 2 parrallel universes running side by side that has both situations.

The same thing can be said about those times when CC carriers were ABLE to do something. You can say, well, we just dont know what would have happened if they werent carrying.

Its tragic.

But lets go back to my thought from earlier. A requirement by the state, by the people that teachers/staff be required to carry. Lets just say for shits and giggles that the princaple had a 1911 on his hip. Perhaps there would only be one student without a parent.

Would you kill one to save the lives of 27, 50, 100, a thousand....?

----------

My kids school locks all doors except the main entrance. Their should be an on duty officer at every school, at the entrance. Would have nipped this in the butt asap

Article I read said it was 18 children dead. Also read somewhere the shooter was a parent. But i still cant get over the fact that it was an elementary school.

exactly why concealed carry should be allowed everywhere! if a teacher or someone IN the school had a CCW, then maybe less people would have been killed
