dang it lol. Unfortunately, I can not afford a 1911, no matter how great those pistols are.

Lol I figured it would be a dude. I don't have any luck.

I don't not see a list. If its out of a 9mm and tac shotgun.
I would use my Springfield xd-9

Or my spring 1911 .45 micro compact. I feel good with both and also use them for conceal carry. Mostly I carry my xd-9. It is more durable and I don't have anything done like I do my 1911. The xd-9 is a "safer" gun too.

For home defense I would scratch the 9mm and AR-15 off the list. A regular old pump shotgun is the best home defense weapon there is. Brutally effective and has less chance of a pass through causing collateral damage. If you want a pistol to pull double duty for home defense and for carry I would go with a better caliber other than 9mm. A 9mm on the street is adequate because you have more chance of escape if the round or you fails to get the job done but at home you dont have that chance. You need a caliber that will put them down and put them down fast. I personally hate the 9mm round.

well, the reason I said 9mm was b/c I am looking for something that can fit in my short's cargo pocket. So something relatively small but still feels good in the hand. Ruger LC9 is what I have been favoring for a while now. Not unless you can recommended another small pistol thats not too small and has more power.

and yea... i meant to put 5.56, i knew it looked wrong haha

I feel it's more safe in the fact of the grip safety and trigger safety. The fact that it doesn't have a hammer that may go off if it is dropped.
Maybe safe is a bad word I guess I mean more accident proof.

My 1911 has redundant safety's. Grip, lever, trigger and half **** hammer. If you so choose you can get an LDA 1911 so that does away with a ****ed hammer but also makes the trigger pull a mile long, one reason I dont like many of the newer pistols, especially glocks.
