Stupidest thing someone's ever told you about cars - Page 7

That guy on the Mustang forum just made my day....
My friend is the dumbest person I've ever talked to about cars. So we are in the Burger King drive thru and I commented on a nice truck in the parking lot of Starbucks.
Me: "Hmm...thats a nice Ranger."
My friend: "A PowerRanger? Your stupid, I don't see a PowerRanger anywhere."
Me: "I'm talking about that truck next to that Audi"
Friend: "I'm lost"
Me: "The Ranger is that red truck, the Audi is the silver car."
Friend: "Oh you mean the 2X596S9?" - He reads the license plate number..
Me: "Yeah, sure sounds like a nice license plate..."
Friend: "See I know everything about a car...genius here."

In my Auto class there is this one girl thats like "Is this the crankshaft?" (She was holding the camshaft) So we sarcasticly say "Yes" so then she puts the camshaft where the crankshaft goes and is like "Look, I did it! I'm so smart." She actually continued to try to put the engine together... I'm just standing there like "No.....just no...."

Right now the stupidest things I can think of include:

-I was talking about transmissions with a friend of mine. She clearly knows the difference between auto and manual since the only thing she will drive is an automatic [obligatory sigh]. Anyway, I mentioned "manual transmission" and she looked at me and said "What's that?" I freaking. went. off. (This girl also didn't know what a Lamborghini is).

-In 5th grade I was told that this one kid knew every brand of car there is, so I went up to him and asked him if he had heard of Koeniggsegg. He swore it wasn't a real brand. I lol'd.

i had a lady customer once tell me " MY sons says long as i keep my gas above half a tank i will never have to change my air filter" Also had a sista come in for a oil change and 5 months later came back and stated "yea uhh yall had did my oil change and now my a/c dont work"

i'm prolly guilty of the "2wd arn't capable" ones...but i stand corrected now but a few i heard were

I like this thread! I think my favorite is "I don't like driving and night because the lights use too much gas." I have this friend that is so book smart, she has straight A's in AP classes but has no common sense at all, especially when it comes to cars. I convinced her that her muffler bearing needs to be replaced and she asked her dad about it. She also told me that all 2wd cars are really 1wd and all 4wd cars are really 2wd cars because she thinks all the power goes to only one wheel. She is convinced by this idea when cars are spinning one wheel in the snow. I mean she is kinda right in a way but she thinks that 100% of the power goes to one wheel all the time. I also backed her car out of a tight parking spot because she didn't want to hit the parked cars, so I put her hazards on when I gave the car back so other cars knew to go around. She was driving behind me with her hazards on because she didn't know how to turn them off lol. I have a video of that one. Like someone said a few pages back, I have no idea how she got her license and she should have no business owning a vehicle.
