Default WA state - Looking for work!

Alright, so I have been all over the towns around here, all over craigslist, and I am still not finding anything. Since October, I've had like 2 interviews, but no call backs.

Anyone hiring, or know family/freinds in Olympia/Shelton/Grapeview/Allyn/Belfair/Bremerton/Port Orchard/Gig Harbor/Silverdale areas that is looking for a hard worker?

PM for my resume if you want that.

Thanks for the help.

Honestly, anything. I need to pay bills and stop living off mom. I'm 18, so living at home is still okay, but I should be able to support myself and help with house bills.

I could move, haha.

Start with a Gen Ed degree and go from there. My sis just decided to go to South Seattle Community college for Culinary Arts. I'm just finishing my Bachelor of Science in Diesel Technology. I transfered out from Centralia Community college with my Associates degree in the same thing. What do you like doing? What's your favorite subject in school?

History was my favorite. I didn't take shop in high school. I did a lot of things that got me ready for college. As for the rest of it, it doesn't matter if you know a lot or a little in college. It's another school. You are there to learn. If you like cars get a degree in automotive. I hadn't played with diesel so that's where I went. Now I've worked with everything from lawnmowers to locomotives. Honda to Caterpillar. I've had a blast. Computers are another favorite of mine. But I can't sit at a desk and play with them all day. You might look at a degree in computers, just start with the basics and get your Gen Ed Associates and tailor your bachelors from there if that's the route you want. Then get out into the real world and work in the IT department somewhere or get a job selling, or building, or fixing them. I worked as a lifeguard till I moved to Montana for school, brief stint at a gas station then I've been pulling wrenches and dealing parts ever since. Are you good at math? You could get a degree in accounting that let's you work with lots of people and make good money. I'd go talk to a counselor at your college and maybe they can get you set up with something.

The other option is military. You can go work for any branch, they could pay for your education and you can do some great things. I still am thinking military. With my bachelors I can get in and apply for officer training. Plus I'm an Eagle Scout. So that should get me an extra rank if I did.

There are a ton of options, but I definately get how hard it is to find a job. The railroad job I have now is done in May because I got it through the college. So I've put in a ton of apps and no one is willing to hire me this far out.

I'm trying to move my ass home lol I'v been all over the states and Washington will forever be home. I have 3 sisters, my adoptive Dad, my 2 moms and all my friends and my gf there. I put in apps all over Washington. I also would like to go see the world though. I'm 22, I'm not married, I have no immovable property ie a house. So I wouldn't mind going somewhere else for awhile. But I've been gone from Washington almost 2 years and it's still home. I feel so excited being there. I have tons to do and places to go. So far I've put in applications to go almost anywhere in the US, including a some places like Australia, Canada, Mexico, and Europe. And for the first time in my life I'm worried about 6 months down the road.

To make you feel better if I move home I'm either moving in with the parentals again or I'm living with my Grandma. So I can help out and save money. Grandma's 86 as of Feb 9 so she's not exactly getting younger lol and she still kicks ass at things, but her house she could use help with. And I could build a shop in the back for my fleet of cars, currently just 3 vehicles but that doesn't mean it couldn't expand more lol.

If you have questions about college you are always welcome to ask. I hate seeing all my friends that are getting married, having kids or generally just sitting on their sacks and not going anywhere. I have a job with one of the largest businesses in the world, I make dumb money and I have a lot of fun. But that wouldn't be anywhere near remotely possible without school. So I'm always up for trying to get people into college and better themselves. This is the greatest nation in the world in my opinion and we all need to strive to do better than previous generations to do better. We have a legacy to uphold. We are still the only country to public knowledge (not minding conspiracy theorists) that have put men on the moon. We as a country do a lot of things that have changed the world in so many ways. And we can't waste the potential that we have in our society because we don't care about how are lives go. I watch my friends that struggle day to day with money, and I can't do that. I know the first few years are hard, but I want to have the life I never have to worry about money, a place to live, gas in the tank, food on the table for my family or any of that. College was the only way I could see doing that.

Wow. That really kind of put me in check. I have been wasting this opportunity. I've never really thought about it like that, how lucky we are to live here, but I guess since everything has always been handed to me for the most part, its easy to miss that, and the "young adults" of this day and age, are honestly lazy, and I am apart of that.

I know what you mean about friends needing money, and having problems, and its hard to see, and if I was not at home, I'd be in the same boat, and thats not okay. For instance, one of my best friends, her and her hubby are married, neither have a diploma or GED, he works part time at McD's, and she has no job. Crap car, have to have slob roommates to make rent (among other problems). Its hard to see.

Thank you for really opening up my eyes.
