Lol I am part of your generation too. And I hate to see it. We are eighteenth in the world for schools. We need to do something. I live the good life, I grew up in upper middle class. It took living on my own and paying bills for me to see that I was not the center of the universe and that if I want to be the guy that never has to worry I need to get off my own sack and do something about it. The other thing for me is that I grew up in a family that they started in familys that worked hard, didn't have much and made their lives the way they wanted them, better than they had. My grandfather when he was alive (the same man that got me into Rangers) ran circles around me in ambition and excellence. I have every confidence if he were still here he'd still do that. My Dad also instilled that in me. Work hard and you can own the world. I have 3 cars, all paid for, a bicycle I have almost 3 gs into, a computer, and a college education because of that. History taught me a lot to. Look at the Great Depression. Millions out of work. The people that made their millions then made their money because they did something about being broke. Not by just hoping it'd all work out. And as much as I disagree with some of the things we do in this country we are lucky. In places like Iran (stereotypical example I know) you can be killed for speaking out against the government. Women are treated as objects not people. I'm sorry that doesn't work for me. Look at the first amendment of our Constitution. We have the right to Free speech and assembly. Second amendment, the right to keep and near arms, the constitution also tells us if we do not agree with how the government is acting revolt. I am in no way saying we need a revolution, we could use a lot of change, but what other country can you think of in the entire world gives us rights like we have here. People around the world think Americans are stuck up and we think we own the world. Well in our country we do own our country because we gave ourselves that. If we want to continue having those we need people that are going to lead us the smart way. I don't want the backwoods yokel running my country, I want someone I think will make the right decisions and try and steer congress that way. I'm a registered voter, and I vote damn it. Because I care and I want my voice heard, however small.

Anyway enough ranting, I hope I've helped you maybe make some decisions that will help. The best thing I can tell you about finding a job is make sure you check on your resumes. Keep trying. Post your resume everywhere. It never hurts to be proactive. And it never hurts to apply for the crap job if you know it's temporary. Money is money, it pays bills and it's a start to somewhere.

Ranting? Maybe. I think that you have a lot of good points, and stand up/say what you believe in, nothing wrong with that at all.

Yeah, about the temp crap I even applied for a diff McD's. Gross. I'm going to Seattle 2mar to talk to the VA people about school (step dad 100% PTSD, so free school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), and what I have to do to get started. I'm stoked. Government + paperwork = months! =[

You got lucky in school. I owe my father somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 grand for mine. Good luck with the VA people. I get all the paperwork to, my Dad had to talk to the VA for like 6 months after grandpa passed to get end of life crap straightened out and so my grandma still got his medical benefits. He was a WW2 vet.

I am a loudmouth liberal when it comes to what I want and believe in. I think I'm the only liberal within 500 miles up here in Montana. I love to piss off the cowboys lol. I'm a logger I don't raise cows. And they all hate Obama, I like him. he came into a hard situation and he's trying to make the best of it. He's also still young. But up here they all hate him and think he is going to take their guns away. You tell them he's outlawing beer, then I'd live in the Country of Montana lol. Truth is Obama has more pressing matters then gun control, and he has to many people that have way more pull then him working for the gun industry that are able to make sure that anything he tries probably won't happen. On top of that at the moment the big thing with Obama shouldn't be guns. We have issues like health care, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Al Quaeda, Iran, Iraq and a bunch of other things I can see that are way more important in my opinion than taking away guns. I own guns, I love guns, I shoot guns. They matter to me, but so do many other things, that are far more pressing than guns and should be to others too.

I agree, I do like Obama for the most part, but most of my friends HATE him. I don't even see how anyone could. Hm. Oh well.

He is doing really well so far.

Agreed, It's not like he chose to have all these problems. And I hate George Bush, but I can't blame him either. A lot of the issues that came up that Obama has to deal with can be traced back to Clinton, the first Bush or the Reagan administration and probably further. Health care Teddy Kennedy has been fighting for since what? The 70's? It was also caused by regulatory organizations that were poorly ran, or poorly staffed that just couldn't do a proper job at what they needed to do. It also can be chocked up to private organizations that were trying to grow to quickly and private citizens that weren't properly taught how to manage and use their money. You can only spend as much money as you have, I'm not counting buying a house, because that simply is to hard to save for and buy a house in your working lifetime and having it paid off when you buy it. We all have a part in this, so guess what? We all have to learn and pay the price for it. Now we go back and start over. This time hopefully doing a better job of it. In my opinion we should teach money managment and financial planning in schools. How much more money do you think you would have saved in high school if you had taken those classes?

I hated bush too, Obama's inauguration speech was better than ALL of bushes.

Yeah, I would have saved something. I have like 90 bucks I owe to the bank, 150 to the hospital, and 50 for a doctor. I'm 18, and in debt. NOT GOOD. I wish I would have saved something! But, oh well.

At least I don't have a credit card.

Lol all in time. I've had a job steady since I was 15. but that was a combination of pure luck and having the skills and knowing where to look. My first job was lifeguarding and I did that for five years. I left an assistant manager. I did construction, because I knew the owner and I know how to build and now I work diesel, but I had school.

I do have a credit card, I didn't get one till I got a job that payed well enough for me to pay it off every month no matter what I had for a balance. I used to blow through money like it was on fire. Then I moved 1000 miles from home, I have no network here to save my ass, no friends at the time and no one to rely on but me and what I had. It forced me to change.

That's hard. She didn't get any compensation from the Marines for it?
