Thanks. Worse thing about the bike is that it is the last year with a GENERATOR and no kick starter. The next year they introduced an alternator located in the back of a new clutch. For the 1st 3 years or so that bike started even in sub-freezing temps. But then once in a while it wouldn't before the battery didn't have enough juice. What a pain in the ass that is. I had the generator refurbished..and still the same thing. It would look even better with a kick-start lever....can be done but not cheap. With kick start and the electric starter removed it would be lighter and would probably be fine with the generator. The starter motor is quite powerful and uses a lot of juice no doubt. Late 70's into the 80's most manufacturers would drop kick start from their larger road bikes...partly to give the impression of such reliability of their products. I knew a guy that had a single cylinder Honda 250 single cylinder street bike..mid 80's..kick starting a single is a bitch..it had no kick-starter..only electric..sometimes it too wouldn't fire up before it didn't have enough juice to turn over anymore. Progress isn't always good when it comes to lots of things.

I must say that this website (Ford Ranger Forum.com) is really well made/put together. Just noticed that as long as replies 'Quote' the post in a reply..you can backtrack easily to see that entire conversation. More of a problem this would be in a thread like After Hours where so many posts are made but not so thanks to the set-up!!!!!

It's been raining here all day too.

I was at the store today, and some old guy was tellin everybody that it was gonna snow tonight.

I sure hope he was referring to somewhere else. If not, I do not want to get old.

Well, technically it hasn't rained all day, it rained this morning, sprinkled, then rained, then stopped, then sprinkled, and then rained. And now it's stopped. It hasn't been constant at all.

Old guy talking about snow..in Florida...poor guy may be suffering from early signs of worst to come mind-wise. Here in the far North..Ontario..Southern region...cold is coming quick..but no significant snow forecasts yet.
