Before you undo everything, have you checked if the current goes all the way to the lights?

Nope. What happened was, I was driving down the highway, then hit a big ass bump and the headlights/tach light went out. The tach is spliced into the headlight wire. The fuse is fine, the connection to the battery is fine, the switch looked busted, but it tested fine, the new switch didnt help. the brights work, so I know its not the bulbs, its definitely the wiring somewhere. brb Ill post a pic of the old switch, the wires look burnt up and corroded.

Here is the switch...cant really see the corrosion, but you can tell it burnt up because the yellow boot things have turned black closest to the exposed wire. and the casing was busted...but it worked on the volt meter thing.

2000 Ranger Etx cab XLT 4.0L Auto trans. Currently I've got my 60/40 cut down into buckets, and a cheap walmart console to fill the gap. Working on gathering parts, paint, vynals, and such for the rest of the build LOL. I use this as an everyday truck, but it's also the only truck I have for hunting and general off road fun. Hoping to make it much better than stock!

Lol I can't wait for tonight considering it's saturday now, even though it's my last night off the fights are on tonight buddies getting them on pay per view, can't wait to see evans bs jackson it's gonna be a slug fest

And I'm hoping my headlights are at my po box tomorrow they should it's a good week for my ranger got the carpet colored black no more nasty grey and hoping for the new lights tomorrow

fucking headlights man...gotta rewire them because there is a short somewhere, and to prevent a future short, just want to completely rewire them...and finding any info on how to do so is not as easy as I had hoped. Fuck google in the butt.
