Trying to find a thread about tires...got 33x12.5s but not sure what that is in 325/60r15 or whatever....lol

Looks good. It would look great with larger diameter tires like you're thinking. Programmers like Superchips Flashpaq can adjust your speedo for different sized tires and/or rear end ratio changes,..as well as a lot of other things. Although expensive (I bought one) it works for Ford gas powered vehicles..all of them I think of the past 10 years or so. But while you can use it on different Fords..you can really only use it on one at a time. That's because you have to revert the previous one back to the stock profile before it will let you do the next one. I recently reverted my Ranger back to the stock profile because I had never updated the programmer. But the update totally sucks...you have to register and select a password. Then the password is never accepted. I see lots of people complaining about the same thing. Luckily my programmer was not changed since I never 'updated' it.
So I drove the truck for a couple of weeks with the stock profile on purpose to see if the performance option really makes a difference. Then I plugged it in and picked the performance profile. Yes it does make a difference. Not huge just responds a little faster..enough to appreciate. You have a choice of 87 octane vs premium for that profile. Trailer towing (torgue), mileage, raise the rev limit are some other things it can adjust for. While it can do all Ford gas vehicles the possible options may vary for each. If you or anyone else bought one..you may want to inquire if it may cover future Ford gas vehicles as well. There is a different one for Ford diesels.
When I bought it I was using Linux for an OS. Updates are only available using Microsuck. Linux and Mac users can't do it. I bought a new Gateway in July...with Windows 7..whether I wanted it or not..I asked. So it occurred to me later that I could now update the programmer..then the password thing. The local speedshop (K&K Racing) where I bought it told me they could update it, when I bought it and saw using Linux I couldn't. I won't bother now since it works fine out of the box as far as I'm concerned. But anyone thinking of buying one..this is something to know. Maybe before you leave the retailer insist on it being updated..and some promise of help if it doesn't work right.
As said..no huge performance gains...may be less with a stock exhaust and intake. Headers and cold air intake (like I have) or more...you will probably see a noticeable difference. The 1st thing it will do when you plug it in is record the stock profile of your vehicle. If you were to have it worked on by a dealer..it is recommended that you return it to the stock profile before taking it there. Otherwise they may charge you for a shocking amount for having to reprogram the vehicle. Returning to stock is easily selected and you are prompted for key on and off until it's done. Takes 5 minutes or so. JK
It can also analise and clear diagnostic codes/errors.
