It doesn't exactly sound like a belt screech... I'm guessing if I just jack it up and turn from rack to rack a couple times to get all the air out of the system if there's any then could that do some good? Plus a fluid change?

Lol fail, I love my computer but that's because it's my escape from Havre. When I'm home in Washington I'm hardly ever on the forum or online which is about the only reason I use a computer lol Oh and diagnosing broken trucks.

That might help, but it really depends on why it is squealing. Why would you have air in the system? Have you topped it off lately?

Thanks dude. You know the exact size of your spacers? I'll probably be getting a larger rear end too after the 5.0 swap.

Not squeeling, more of a whine. Fluid has been topped off for quite a while now. But it has been run low before.

No, I've run it while it was low though. Back when I used to drive it like a danger Ranger, lol. My 1st year of licensure. :/ I really hope the pump isn't going out.

How many miles on that Ranger? And you might check the level again. I'd post this up in the technical forum so more people see it. But best guesses are that it's low on fluid, or the bearing to the pulley.

2 routers linked? Maybe it's just a matter of adding the secondary as an exception in the primary router?

mmm, probably is the pump going out then...but like Richarddhoward (i think) said, check the belt, JUST INCASE, its cheaper to put some soap on a belt than it is to replace the power steering pump.

Yeah, I'm gonna make a thread tomorrow. I've checked the fluid regularly, at least once a week, the last time being Wednesday. It's still full. The fluid looks really used/dark though. So I'll drain the system and refill it with new fluid. Any idea how many pints/quarts/etc. it's going to take to fill up my pump? How would I drain it? It's a 97 2.3 lima with 143k on the odo.

It might be time for a pump, I hope not. I have no idea on the capacity. Might try your owners manual or search the forum. I'd just disconnect a line to drain the fluid.
