Because you could be a spy from another company...or they are afraid you could take their job from them, or they dont want to waste their time training you just to see you quit for something better 2 weeks later.

That's what i was told basically, that since i was over-qualified, chances were that i'd look somewhere else.

But if i'm the one who applied for that job (not referred by a head hunter), shouldn't they give me the benefit of the doubt? That i genuinely wanted to work there by interest?

Actually ...way yesterday Clinton...you know that though. See the news..riots in many countries in Europe over unemployment. This one bad recession.
