Well, I could drop easily 10k in a fully built turbo 5.0 swap...Then another 10k on the system (8 15" subs+highs to keep up) Then another 5-6k in paint....then all the things that nickel and dime ya to death.

That NA motor is $6550 without turbo...Now Think of a 70 something MM turbo, intercooler, drysump oilpan, and all the little things that come along with a turbo.
Transmission (note this trans is only rated at 550rwhp...Turbo 5.0 would be putting down about 750-1000rwhp)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...d=120571844810
a ford 9in rear end that will hold up
http://www.blowbyracing.com/roracojet9re.html
Then suspension.
Then system
8 of these will be almost $7500
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+T9515-04.html
Then you have to think about highs, and amps, and alt to push them
Still too steep?
here is a $10,000 paint job all House of Kolor products Orion Silver with Kandy Kobalt Blue and Kandy Tangerine Orange

Re: FRF Afterhours
That's what i meant when i said jdm it.
Turn your truck into a mustang.
That ancient engine is quite expensive compared to a crate 306 (340hp)

Thats just a crate engine though, either way...Designed to run NA (or with nitrous)...Think of having an engine that is built to withstand 1000hp turbo charged...Well, JDM, whatever you want to call it, its a way to spend $30k to have the badest ranger ever. Plus if you really wanted to, you could drop 5k on just the wheels.
These are retailed at $5k per wheel

Re: FRF Afterhours
The crate is 340hp stock, the used one is modified to 315.
I like the black wheels and i could understand why they'd be so outrageously expensive, but the chromed ones are just.. no
If your only goal is just to get crazy hps, might as well just pick up an ecotec engine (2.0-2.2) and use the factory turbo, it's cheap as hell, the internals are already forged from opel (heard you could run 600hps safely with them), it's a light engine, and there's a step by step guide to get them to 1400hps.
I really hope no gm guy will see this from the other forum..
