if it wasnt for me completely loving welding, i would have gone into Machine Tool Technology. you design and machine things, basically what you are in. the one thing i thought was really cool was making a replacement knee cap! it was soo cool to see how they had it geared to move

But josh, i love my oem bumper, i just want something up front that'll be strong, nothing fancy, just brute force to crack some plastic *******s who park too close.
That, and i was thinking about a winch.

what about re-enforcing your bumper brackets and building a tube style bumper BEHIND your stock one? just a thought

hmm. guess i cant really picture what ur talking about (the oem bumper). i understand about wanting a bar. if i were u, run a support off each frame rails (flux core weld the shit our of it, it wont come off if you flux core it) out passed ur bumper about 3 inches. then, run a bar connecting them. add extra support where needed. lol

exactly. i love doing that. we have a 3d printer that lets us see how the stuff will work before we go make it.

I have two or three designs in mind, i just need to find the right machine shop.

good point. i'd just do a single bar and have it bent to the contour of your bumper and run it close to the bumper. kinda of like a truck that does an exo-cage. then have two posts that come through your existing bumper. like what josh said.

the CNC is EFFIN AWESOME! we made our race car for our power tool drag car. apparently we had "an unfair advantage" lol
