Default ATV vs Dirtbike

I figured I'd ask here and maybe get an unbiased opinion instead of a bike or quad forum. I'm mostly talking about sport quads vs dirt bikes. I have a Z400 now, but I am really thinking about selling it or trading it for a dirt bike. I don't race I just like trail riding and having fun. Any of you guys had both? Just looking for opinions.

Haha. Here's the deal I bought a Polaris from my boss for $250. It was boring to ride. I traded it even for the Z400. It is pretty fun and fast, but I mostly did it just because it is worth nearly double what the Polaris was. I figured I could use it to trade for something even better.

ridden both on trails, and ended up buying a 400ex because i generally had more fun on the quad than the dirt bike.

I like how ^ says being a tool on a quad...........................

sorry i dont want to piss anyone off on here, but people who say that (most the time) cant ride for poop.

I have both, LTR450 quad, and kx450 bike.

And im sorry, trading a 400 for a bike ^^^^^ like he said = no profit. Getting a bike really depends on how well you ride... where you ride.... and your weight, so you know what bike to really get. I'm in with Team Green Kawi, so i get tons of bikes weekly. If you want ot ask anything, I'm here

Maybe thats because the landing wasnt flat.......... so i had to.......

and never wanted you to switch to a quad, or anyone for that matter. Just different avenues for him to decide, rather than "being a tool".

I got a CRF 450R the wife has a z400, After riding both everywhere, Id rather take the bike, however if you like trailriding alot more then like say sand dunes, I would not sugest getting a 450 due to the fact that going up any trail type hill you end up going up the hill WAY to fast and trying avoiding trees is a pain in the ass.

It is nice to relax and cruise around on the quad sometimes though but they feel uber slow compared to a bike.

What you need to do is find yourself a Hot suga-mamma (who doesent mind cleaning your airfilters) to buy you both, then your set.

BTW x2 on what Brenton59 said.

Ive owned both and I had way more fun on my 400ex than any bike.

Mud riding is way more fun on a quad than a bike. Not to mention if your stuff breaks down you can get towed a lot easier on a quad.

i knew this would be a fun thread!

yeah, depends on the local terrain. mud and a quad is a lot more fun than a bike in the mud. but i prefer a bike on the trails n woods. just me...
