Get a 3x30' strap.....rated at 30,000lbs. Get one with leather wrapped 'hoops'. I've got a ProComp brand strap and it's got some use out of it and always comes in handy. IMO, this kind of area you don't wanna skimp on. The reason I suggest the 3x30 30k is not the weight rating, but more so the size and the length. These trucks are fine with just a 2x20, but I like the rather safe than sorry route.

Good straps are not cheap....you do get what you pay for.... Quality is of upmost importance IMO.

Agreed... Stay away from chains unless they're on your tires. And listen to Shane.

reciever...

check out etrailer.com. It's where I got my shackle inserts and they're only priced at $30 and they feel beefier and look better than the Warn ones you were probably quoted.

I use a tow rope i got from work. Its a 1" by 20' braided rope with hooks and is rated at 25,000 lbs. These things are awesome I have used it to pull trucks out one over off its roof and it was used to pull out a 1 ton dodge pulling a fifth wheel 38' toy hauler loaded stuck in the sand not by my truck obviously lol. They absorb shock and kinda of work like a bungee. They are guarenteed not to rott I always keep it in the back of my truck year round. They are a lil pricey bout 115. I got some that go all the way to 3"x25' that are at 200,000 pounds lol

loops > hooks....

sorry...moving things around a property that don't require a running start, yeah they work just fine. But DEFINATELY not something you want for recovery because that hook will want to slack up and release and become a flying projectile!
