Eric, I will do some checking on that as I seem to remember that they were pretty reliable but I don't remember the design.

Kind of a thread drift but since it was mentioned. LMC Truck sells a chrome bumper with the auxiliary lights installed in the bumper instead of below. Just an option.

I think it should have some more f150 lines than the last generation. Like f150 INSPIRED lights, but without making it look like a raptor knock off. And the f150 front window style, how it drops towards the front. I really like that look. A moonroof would be cool too. Like I said earlier, I really think the power rear window would be nice, and the bed should be about 3-4 inches deeper. Just my opinion. Also, a nice aggressive grille could make or break the truck in my opinion. Can't wait to see it!

I say 4 full doors and a diesel option. After my motor craps out in a decade or I just have the money to blow I'm going to look into swapping in a cummins 4bt I think it was, 4cyl diesel. I hate not even having had the option of four full doors for a ranger >.<

Auto dim mirror is already on the plans as far as the bed lights, I thinking of an idea for that.

Something that I have been thinking (I can't get it out of my head) is these - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_F-...nth_generation

Complete with the wing window which I REALLY miss in the new trucks!!!!

Yep, there will be some styling cues from the newer trucks as well, as I said eariler, right now I am using a sketch pro (program) to basically start rough sketching ideas so that I can get a reasonable starting point.

See post #66 - Can you say Turbo Diesel?

BTW - how does everyone feel about the 80s rigs??????

Please break down what you like and dislike. The reason my brain is drawn to this one is because of the boxy "TRUE TRUCK" look. It looks like what it supposed to be not a car thats lifted on big tires.

The 80's and early 90's Rangers do look the best IMO.

I say give it a restyle of the 89-92 ranger. Though wider with a 4-door option as stated. As for the power plant, the eco-boost 4 cylinder that is out now or the 5.0 Coyote engine that is running in the Mustangs. I would also say get rid of the IFS and get back to a solid axle in front but that is because I think a truck should be a truck.

Just my thoughts.

All I want out of a Ranger is a true double cab. Crew cab. Maybe a small V8 would be nice, along with Dual Exhaust. Automatic Transmission thats heavy duty, with a cooler on it. Towing capabilities is a must. Maybe a 5 1/2 ft bed? Although 6 ft is nice. I think it'll look kinda cool with a 2003 body style with the crew but headlights like the Ram just not sloping forward too much. LED lights? Simple Design for the interior. Have a rubber floor option in some, carpet in most. Storage compartment underneath rear seats. Thats all I have for now.

The f150 headlights make it ugly, but something like this.
