Make a sport, full-time AWD 2-door 6-spd with a cranked EcoBoost, that sits lowered, with fender flares and a bed cover, side exhaust, skirts, a bumper lip, roll pan, and 20x10 and 19x8 5-spoke rims with 50series tires

Re: Desiging a 2014 Ford Ranger!!!
Make sure it doesn't look like one of them overseas rangers. The style the exterior is now, just make it look more... refined i guess you could say. Dont forget the Fx4 level II package
Oh and can the engine be a DOHC 4.0 w/ direct injection?

I think it should look like a new ranger fx Level II but with some f150/raptor twists.

why drop an old, heavy low powered engine in there that doest get good MPG?
my thoughts, make it a touch bigger, not much, keep it simple. 3.7 V6 base engine. 300 HP and 30 MPG in the mustang would probably get it around 25 MPG in a ranger sized compact truck. then do a ecoboost 4banger for the fuel economy junkies, and for the power junkies do 3.5 ecoboosr.
personally, ive enver been a fan of full 4 doors. so I wouldnt wanna see that. and i kinda hate how the back of the cab is angled forwards. looks terrible with headache racks, rollbars, etc. so make the back of the cab straight, or more straight.

Re: Desiging a 2014 Ford Ranger!!!
More storage space.. ie: utility bed body with the same profile and shape as the current bed. Use the space between the bedsides and framerails with factory mounted boxes.
A front bumper that isn't sheetmetal wrapped in plastic.
Full length skid pan underneath (like the bottom of a skidsteer) with access holes everywhere you would need to get to).
An on board factory built in 110V power inverter. Those dang Toyota's have one available, Ford's should too!
On board air system. Watch Swamp Loggers and see how they inflate/deflate tires on the go based on the terrain.
Turbo Diesel! Not 800 hp stuff, 50 mpg stuff.
Nuff said.

I had that thought also - its gotta be a 4 door like the super crew F-150. As far as the interior of the cab, I was thinking making it bigger - not as big as the F-150 but large enough that guys that are around the 6ft mark can be comfortable.
