I am still thinking that it would be an option!!! I am trying to be realistic. Granted I know everyone including me would have loved a 4.6 SOHC in a Ranger but as the rise in gas prices and the fact that - sticking with the Rangers size a V8 isn't necessarily a main factor.
Chris, you also have to consider that like the trucks we have now a 4.6 SOHC or the new Coyote 5.0 wouldn't fit without major changes to the size of the truck and in that since it wouldn't make since - if you needed that big of a vehicle you might as well get a fiddy.

You got it. Also was thinking about making a manual transfer case standard and making the electric an option - you guys have to consider guys like me that can't do the stick due to health.
You guys are great!!!!! You are really churning out some great stuff. I am still waiting on my program and as of right now I am on another program that basically sets up the design process - in ordered fashion so that I don't get ahead of myself and make any big mistakes that would make it hard for me to go back and correct later on.

I hate to keep saying this but size it like a Dakota too. We all have to admit that would be nice.

Thought about that and trying to map out a "how to go about it" route.

Truck will physically wider, as to how wide once I start in on the actual frame design as it take shape, I will start posting images because this program will allow me to make .pdf files, so I will post progress so everyone can have a say or decide the direction.
The reason I am doing this is so we can all have some fun and have a cool experience of working together. I know some of you personally and thought that it would be kind of awesome to have a project we can all be proud of and all have a say in. Again NOTHING is set in stone and just because I have an opinion doesn't mean that is what will be - we will do a majority vote for everything and see where we go - hell you never know we might just be the design team that brings the FORD RANGER out of the ashes and into the world again!!!!!

Yeah, that is probably what I will base the size on. I 100% agree that the overall size is an issue not just for the engine but there also things that I have more or less thought - "Damn, if only it was bigger here or there"!!

Sit up a little higher. For sure needs a towing package, sunroof option, keep the power dome hood, or something similar, corners and headlights I feel should all be one piece. A bigger sliding glass window (kind of like a Titan) .
