Default Auto Schools

i'm looking for a new school / career

i've loved cars since i was a little kid but i've HATED school.

i'm no dummy when it comes to working on or fabricating something so i'm looking into schools that would cover both cars and/or fabrication.

i learn by doing, not by constantly memorizing and reading books
so i'd prefer a school that was mostly hands on.

what schools are you guys attending or have attended?
how was your experience at said school?
was it worth it?

i've been looking at Wyotech and UTI cause i see those advertised the most....but i'm also wondering what else is out there.

any input would be great.
help a fellow gearhead out

I go to Ferris State University for Automotive, but they really don't have the fabrication part of what you want. They are like one of I think two schools that have Auto Engineering so they have the design and theory of stuff. But I don't think that is what your looking for.

Another school you can look into is University of Northwestern Ohio. They are pretty much an automotive only school, but in the past couple years they have started to expand and started having sports and all that stuff. They have a high performance program to where you learn all the fabrication stuff and welding. You know the stuff that every gearhead every where wants to know.
