Default What is your motivation to lose weight?

title says it all, gf and i have set a reward system where at the end of the 3rd week in sept if we both lose 10 lbs we will do something for each other. we are going to start road biking together, i normally ride with my friends. its a sticky subject so it's kind of hard to get motivation from her since her main form of excercise and mine are different so we often work out seperately.

what is your motivation? id like to lose weight. i am 5'10 and 210 lbs. the doctors say i am overweight and i should be at 175 (holy crap on a cracker) so anyways. 10 lbs for a start.

The ladies of course, and it's something to do in place of smoking (which I quit for four months in February then picked back up a few weeks ago.)

The only real motivation you will need is that burn in the end of the day, when you wake up in the morning and are sore, and the pay-off in the end which you can keep tabs on on a daily... I mean who doesn't want to look at themselves and say, "Damn! I'm sexy!" ROFL

Easiest thing to do is start eating fruit as one of your meals, and the other meals should be light and nutritious; something that fills your stomach but lacks calories and a lot of sugar. Cutting carbs is easier than you think as well...

Keep up the work bud! I lost 65 lbs over one summer a few years back! I was 210 @ 5'5" or so.

It's tough at first, but after you get the habit going, it all seems so natural.

Ehhh that's just a minor trivial thought along the side... Your health and longevity should be the first thing on your mind. All you have to do is be at it for a month to form the good habit. Just keep it in your mind what you want to do that day and set out to do it... Whether you want to or not!

(:

And above all, HAVE FUN!

Jog or bike somewhere that you enjoy visiting. Somewhere where you can use the restroom, relax for a few, and walk around and check out the sights or a companies products. Exploring is another great way to keep yourself motivated!

Well, I'm diabetic-Type 2.
Spent 10 days in hospital, with Pulmonary Embolism.
Going between 275-285 @ just under 6 foot.
Thankfully, I do not drink, smoke or drugs. can't afford to!!
Model railroad collection, and truck mods are killing me instead!!

I'd probably be happy f I could get back to around 250#.
Lower yet would be better.
