Default the Pickens Plan

hey all, I've known about this for a little while now but never really looked into it. Pickens Plan is a great plan, it is very economically sound, the technology is there, and all that is needed is a push from us to get government to act. i don't wanna start a whole political debate here, neither side is doing much for the cause. but i do want people to discover this plan and read it for themselves. one snippet from the website that is incredibly relevant today: building wind turbines from northern Texas to the Canadian border would provide the Midwest with 138,000 immediate jobs, and 3.4 million new jobs over a 10 year period. all this while providing america with 20% of our energy needs from a free, domestic source. the goal of the plan is to cut off American dependance on foreign oil, particularly from the volatile middle east, and start providing clean, cheap energy that is right here already. if you feel motivated about it please let other people in your area know about it and maybe contact your representative or senator, theres a list of senators and representatives who have said yes. here is the site if your interested in reading up on it--> Pickens Plan
p.s. its good for the environment too

so, I live in North Texas about 20 mi. from Mr. Pickens's hunting lodge. The thing is measured not in acres, but in square miles. The guy is so rich, he doesn't live in the same world as the rest of us.

Pickens got rich off of oil. He's trying to do the same thing now with "renewables," but it only makes sense for him if he can get you (Joe taxpayer) to finance it for him because the payback takes so long in renewable energy.

Just FYI...

^^^ What he said. T. Boone Pickens ain't here to make the world a better place for anyone but himself. He oughta just cough the investment for it, he has more money than the government, and the government needs to quit spending taxpayer dollars on someones personal gold mine.

i'd rather give my money to Pickens than a Saudi prince directly funding Bin Laden. i'm not gonna get into personal profit or any of those reasons and such. he's come out in interviews and said he owns the natural gas company that he says would be best for this stuff. no doubt about him making money off this, but it saves the tax payer a lot of money, and creates jobs. imo those are both good things. and hey, its good for the environment too.
