i want to turbo my mini bike which has been done before. my question is i need a smaller turbo. know any cars that have small turbos on them?

Volvos, Mercedes and vw's all have model with little turbos. My girlfriend has a jetta tdi diesel and the turbo is pretty darn small

You sure you want to do this??? You need more cylinders to make a turbo run.. It's spun by exhaust gas coming out.. There the power of a single cylinder bike engine would not be able to spool up a turbo to its full potential... More cylinders and more exhaust gas coming out would give the pressure to spin on...

Now what would be very cool is to fabricate a small supercharger in front of your carb..
My idea has always been to use a chain driven by one of the main gear inside the engine. Like what goes before the centrifugal force clutch so it's always spinning at the engines RPMs.. With different gear ratios you could be able to get it spin quiet fast and produce the results you want

turbos have been done on bikes before. single cylinder bikes. small turbos require less flow to get them to spool up, hence some cars having 2 turbos (one small, one larger) to allow boost to come at lower RPMs.

Yeah that's a four cylinder... A single cylinder engine will not produce the exhaust gas flow to spool up a turbo to gain the results you wants... Remember it's a four stroke making one puff of gas ever revolution.. And it being a single cylinder there will be a gap until it riches it's exhaust stroke

so is it one puff of exhaust every revolution, or every four? intake, compression, combustion, exhaust. 1 in 4 buddy.

you also forget that bikes rev a lot higher than car motors do, 11k red limits are possible as is cruising at 6krpm. with a ball bearing turbo there will be plenty of exhaust flow to move a small impeller and create boost.

its a mini bike. which, I think, means it has a brigg 5hp or so motor. max revs on that thing are probably like.......2k...
