Hey man you are trying, I gave up on playing my fiddle when I got out of high school, was pretty good too. Just wasn't the same playing on my own.

i stopped percussion out of high school, and started guitar. i love guitar. i'm trying to learn a little fiddle and mandolin, that way we can play bluegrass with others who can only play guitar.

Cool, I have a guitar at home that I started to teach myself how to play but haven't really had a chance to get back to it.

Yeah I can't watch youtube videos from work....but I can say any bluegrass music by Ricky Skaggs is the best.

Re: FRF Watercooler / BS Thread VIII
i love bluegrass, old fashion country, outlaw country... i my opinion, those styles mentioned should be known as just 'country'. too much of the newer & pop country sounds just like regular pop music.
to each his own, but sugarland just isn't country; they are good, but they are pop rock. jamey johnson is country. hank williams sr. is (was) country. hell even hank jr is country (plus a little southern rock)

I have to agree with you 100%, the country music that is out now sucks for the most part.

haha! we've got 'King Country 93.3' around here, and they won't play anything that is not true 'country' music. the newest they the'll do is alan jackson & george strait. hardly even play garth brooks!
