I prefer the fender accoustic to the gibson accoustic sounds more rich to me but thats in my taste . I think the next thing I need is probably a good vintage overdrive pedal like a Big Muff (snickers )

you can't go wrong with the Muffs! lol, but really i used a muff once and it was fun.
well with the gibson accoustic - not so much about it's sound, but it's playability. i just love to play it. sounds good, but i've heard better sound out of other hollow bodys - so i agree with you
edit: it was a Metal Muff pedal that i got to use

I prefer the sounds of a 70s style overdrive, my friend had a Eric Clapton Strat and he played the big muff through Fender tube Cabinet Amp and it sounded amazing
I like the sound of the Gibson ES-335? hollow body, but I dont think it be something I would buy.

Re: FRF Watercooler / BS Thread VIII
i'll learn a lot more soon enough. my sister asked me to learn the mandolin. she gave me one that was $10 - needless to say, i sucks. but i am gonna fiddle with it until i can fret it without stretching the strings out of tune. i'm gonna file down the 'nut' i believe it's called - at the neck of the guitar. also the bridge needs adjustment - needs to be relocated a bit. why would i attempt this? i don't knoe. just sounds cool.
