Not always. How much force did you use? He-Man force, or Paris Hilton force?

LOL! somewhere in between. on the second hard bite that you have to get is the one where it starts to rip, before i even give it that much force...i guess the tires are fucked anyway...
it's been a while since i've changed a large tire ,done plenty of dirtbike tires.

If you bring the tire iron too close to the tight edge of the rim/bead contact area, you run a higher chance of ripping it. If I remember correctly, the same goes for being too far away from the tight edge as well.
