Re: FRF Watercooler / BS Thread VIII
oh yeah! big fixing news over here fellas
So, my truck has been running like shit. In the morning, start up, juice the throttle and it damn near dies out. Try to pass or get the trans to "kick down" wont happen. Floor it from a start, runs like shit and sounds like its starving for fuel.
So, I decided to start with cleaning all the known things, MAF, IAC, etc, etc. Remove the air intake and what do I see...? A goofy ass looking MAF. On all my other fords, the MAF has always been the sensor hanging down inside the MAF. This one, has a solid metal plate about .5" wide. And a tiny hole at the top. So, only the air goin thru the hole is being read by the MAF...
I install a MAF from a 5.4. HOLY SHIT! No more almost dying after start up, no more not kicking down, no more spitting and sputtering and acting like its running out of fuel.
I can send that truck sideways on dry pavement from a dead stop and it will just keep going. (probably cause of the bigger cam) Anyhow, its nice to finally be able to "go" when I need to go!

Oh it was good, except for the hang over on Sunday.
Why do you want to lift your truck more? That thing is bad ass as is.

Re: FRF Watercooler / BS Thread VIII
Im probably not, Im just keeping it in mind that I might be able to get 3" more for under $100. and I doubt Ill ever put bigger tires on it anyways, I dont want to wear out the 3.0, even though that thing can go.
