in terms of what?
the bridge pup in my tele is piercing in terms of brightness with 9g strings and the neck pup has more sustain then my SG it has a variety of tones i can achieve with my marshall half stack, it just lacks the natural thickness of a good Les Paul

oh - in terms of fretting and fingering. if i had the amp setup i bet i could get the sound of a tele, but i'd WAY rather has an extra guitar! but yeah, that natural fat sound as hard to get from a tele, just like that twang is hard to get out of a les paul without fudgin with pickups n stuff...then again, i ve never piddled with the pickups on mine.
edit: to clarify, i lack a lot of knowledge with guitars, i was a drummer actually. but i sure as hell like to play a paul out of a stack!

the 2 electric guitars (SG and Tele) I have have boths been modded heavily with only the body, neck and head being original. Just my accoustic (Jay Turser) is original. Even Emilie's Les Paul Studio has Dave Mustaine pups and grover machine heads. I rather have the stock pups in the Les Paul

yeah, can't go wrong with that sound! honestly, i think my next purchase will be a gibson acoustic that my dad currently owns...and then on to the Tele
