Currently I assemble the hydrostatic drive/suspension for Bad Boy "XP" and diesel zero turn lawn mowers. Those are the high end models Bad Boy offers. I've worked on just about every phase of every model Bad Boy builds, and even filled in in final inspection a time or two.

I have been professionally employed as a vertebrate paleontologist and served as executive director of a natural history museum (thus the avatar & user name). A serious difference of opinion between myself and the board of directors lead to my resignation. Y'all have no idea how hard it was to get that job only to be forced to quit because there was a move to sell a part of the collection. Not on my watch.

I was a master wood worker until I finally clipped myself with a 12" table saw. It took 23 years before I finally messed up and I lost the bone in the tip of my right index finger. No more from that day forward. I put a hand fitted parquet floor in Winthrop Rockefeller's office that took months to finish. It was a copy of a floor he'd seen in a Mosque in Russia, and no two pieces were the same. It was made like a bowling alley with very thick (5.25") clear quarter sawed red oak.

I was raised by hillbilly survivors of the great depression that taught me to get a dollar the honest way and work for it, learn as much as you can about everything you can, expect more of yourself than you do of others and take a break and just go fishin' once in a while.

Proud to have found the forum, and hope to be able to contribute meaningfully.
