Default Re: What do you do for a living?

Late nights for me bring back older threads.

I am a student right now. Probably a "youngin" to most of you, but I have lots of experience. I am finishing my Highschool, then going into college for a Carpenter. I want to build houses for a living.. Well, ok, build them..put up the drywall, then let someone else do the finish. I hate doing finish carpentry. I have already built my own house as part of a program I am in.
Group of us that built it..all from highschools in my area.

Doin' some roofin..

I loved every minute of it..until the finish part, even then I enjoyed it, better then being in class. If you want to see anymore pictures, as I know a lot of people in the past have asked me for some(not from here, but when I mention it they want to see some)
http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/c61/myy_sigss/Grimsby%20House%20Build/

Plan is to do that for a living, owning my own business. Then keep automotive and welding as my hobby, as well as motorsports.

Ive worked at best buy for the last 5 years and counting, selling cell phones. Also got my real estate license about a year ago and dabbled in that a little, getting
a second job at fedEx in the next week or so.

I work for our city as the code enforcement officer. Basically I do inspections and plan review for any new construction or remodel and for HVAC, plumbing, electrical and building. I've been here for 7 years and prior to that, I was a journeyman plumber. I wouldn't mind plumbing still, but my back is tore up from lifting the wrong way for too many years. This job is much easier on the ol' body... The biggest project I've worked on was an 88 room, 60 million dollar hospital. Right now, we have 2 multi-story motels going up and a lot of oilfield companies are building metal buildings.

I'm a MECP car audio tech for Best Buy store 169. Been there about 5 years, before that did the same thing for a local Ford dealer and Circuit City. I also do a little landscaping on the side.

I've worked for Fed Ex in Bedford Hts., Ohio (Cleveland, Oh suburb) for the last 7 years as a cargo handler. I will be quitting soon since I recently was offered a job working for a DirecTv subcontractor as an installer of satellite dishes. I am pretty excited to start this new career and "earn" some cash.

I usually do whatever I can to get money. The main things I will do is work on peoples cars for them and detail them. I also do odd jobs that I can get to without needing a vehicle since my truck is long from being drivable again.
