So for any of you that are stationed in the military or work for uncle sam some where around the world you might understand this thread.

Basically in my line of work you don't get promoted based on merit. YOu get promoted based on how good you can lie on an automated resume program.

So today I"m going to a training class all day, and hopefully don't fall asleep b/c I've been up since 2:15 AM.

But it's titled, "is supervision for me?" Basically I guess it's going to go over what supervisors and the like face each day and a stepping ground for how you want to further your career within the government.

A fifth grader could do my job. My supervisor and leaders aren't all that brilliant to be begin with. Which really frustrates me.

But if I want to move up and get a better pay I have to determine if I want to be in management and order dumb people around.

It's quite humorous. It doesn't take a master's degree to do what my supervisors do. Just common sense but they walk around in their polished shoes and ironed slacks like they know what's going on, when they really don't.

And now you all know the secret of our country. We have a bunch of dumb people elected by us of course who are dumb enough to believe the lies they tell us.

WHich is why most of the US is owned by China any how (yeah, we owe them a lot of money).

Well I learned today I need to search other branches of Uncle Sam for something more suitable to my skills.

Because the only way to move up within my org. is to be a manager/supervisor and it's not for me.

I feel your pain. Or, do like some of my smarter friends did... get hired by a contractor and make twice as much money.

I always thought it would be fun to be a team leader or supervisor where I work.

On days that the team leader is gone I get to take his spot. it really is not much fun at all.

They have more meetings than they do anything else where they just sit around talking about the past weekend or the up coming weekend.

Our team leaders annoy us all day. There was one Friday where the supervisor in charge was there and no team leaders. It was quiet we got our work done, and the supervisor in charge left us alone and commended us for doing our work.

Our current supervisor . . . well lets just say he's been passed around. And pretty much where we work is considered second rate any how b/c the mother ship of the operation is 10 miles away. That's where all the big whigs hang out.

Then I guess working in newport news shipyard for northrop grumman building subs isn't too bad. Its not a government job but is still kinda like one. But I guess when you work for the only company in the world that builds united states aircraft carriers, this place makes it easy to work for the government.

Hence the government contractor thing I mentioned earlier.

So I wake up at my usual time around 2:15Am to go to my PT job. I get there and the presses are down, something electrical. They had to call a specialist from the neighboring capital city. So far no ETA as to when it will be up and running. But once it is I"m expected to go do my delivery route. Which sucks b/c I had big plans today.

Brake work onthe van. Work on putting in my seat in my truck. Supposed to be in the 40's today.
