I average 22k a year and have since I was 16 lol. I love to drive! Plus when my wife had her 97 escort, I HATED it and we always took truck. My mileage has slowed alot now that we own our house

Have you checked the price of a new Lariat or FX4 crew cab? They run about $45,000-$48,000....half the price of my house!!!!! Even with rebates, your not going to get less than 40 on one i bet

I would love one, most of the time they are missing a few features like heated leather (they have leather, just not heated), or climate control (which is NICE). I just found my dream one, but they want 24k for it

Re: Decisions....Decisions.....
Don't take this the wrong way, but your kinda being a girl about this F-150 thing. You really should slow down, relax and not be in a crunch. You make 22k a year and are going to have 14k in a ranger payment AND probably a 12k-16k F-150 payment. Along with a new car payment, house payment and all other bills. Dude thats a shit ton of payments, on 22k a year.
Even if you trade the ranger in, you will only get maybe 9k on trade in. The rest will get rolled right ontop of the new truck payment. It just dont make sense for me. For 1) the ranger can handle a kid. 2) you have the car.

Re: Decisions....Decisions.....
Hey Scott, remember that old late 50's Ford you took pictures of with your Ranger awhile back? Whoever drove that truck did perfectly fine without any fancy options.
I'm not really sure why you're so hell bent on all the fancy options. The more options you have on the vehicle, the more it costs to fix them when they fail, and the more complicated it is to reach them when they fail. You don't need heated seats, power windows, etc, etc, etc, and if you bought yourself a cheap, low mile XL 4x4 F150, you would probably save a few thousand dollars that you could use towards little Lester. Forty years from now, it's not gonna matter what truck you drove or what options it had. It's the things you did for little Lester and the childhood you gave him will make a world of difference. Save your money and buy a better boat to take little Lester out on the lake with, put it in a college fund, etc. You've had your chance to have really nice things, and now it's time to think about the nice things you can do for your kid.

I make quite a bit more than 22k a year bub (the 22k a year from above was mileage, not salary lol). and the wife makes more than I do. If I get F150, the Ranger is going for sure, so i wont be paying both. I did get offered 11k on trade however.
Yeah I am being picky on an F150, they are expensive anyways, and If I get one it will be a lariat or an Fx4, power everything. I have drove a truck without if forever and always wanted leather and power everything. Im not settling for a no option truck...especially an XL, that would be a downgrade from the Ranger
I will end up getting pissed off and keeping the Ranger and making it work, but no way is the kid going in the front of the Ranger...end of story. The wife and I have talked about it, and its not happening.
Thanks for the input guys, Im holding off on this truck, and seeing what I can find or what pops up
