FRF Watercooler / BS Thread V
Continuation of the previous thread....
This thread is for any misc offtopic posts, that doesn't necessarily warrant a separate thread; essentially watercooler talk.
Example:
- Talking about the weather
- Talking about your day
- Anything really (forum rules still apply, see: http://www.fordrangerforum.com/misc.php?do=showrules)
For those of you wondering, this new thread was created after seeing numerous comments that long threads greatly hinder server performance.

it is a non-synchronized transmission so you have to make the revs match up
like usually you would shift at 1400 rpm
so to shift (say from 3-4) when the revs hit 1400 then you clutch in once and put the tranny in neutral and let the revs fall down to 1000 (there is 400 rpm difference in gears) then just before 1000 clutch in again (double clutching) and put the tranny into 4th
Downshift from 4-3 would be let rpms get to 1000 then clutch in and put tranny in N then rev to just past 1400 clutch in again and put tranny in 3rd right at 1400
If you miss the rpms then the gears just make an awful grinding noise and you are freewheelin
Then shifting from 4-5 or 5-4there is a high/low range splitter switch you have to hit.... and then in the 13-speed you can split the top 4 gears with another splitter switch...
Then you can double shift (good for down shifting) same as regular shifting but rev 800 rpm's between gears
