Default Just picked up the fiance's Christmas Present

Now i know this has nothing on all of your SLR cameras and stuff, but for her, its perfect. Its the new Nikon S230 w/ a 3" LCD touchscreen. It has 10 megapixels, 3x optical zoom, and can even has a smart scene selector based on current conditions! She will ove this thing! She's been nagging me for a camera b/c hers messed up (shutter button stopped working).

COOLPIX S230 from Nikon

I've been messing around with it and its simple to use and she absolutley loves anything touchscreen (she had a hard time picking a blackberry because US Cellular doesnt carry touchscreen one) It makes her feel special i guess...lol.

Usual price is $179. Everyone had it on sale for $149. I picked this beauty up at ol' wally's world. I think ill sell my fujifilm 8.2MP to get a black one! What do ya'll think?

I already know what i'm getting....fishfinder for the new jon boat!

Good deal! My wife and I were looking at those for a our neighbor (she gave us a puppy last year and grooms it for free), and they are really nice. My wife was going to get me one as well, but went with the waterproof Fujifilm camera instead. Long story as to why, but it involves me, a blackberry, and fishing.

Which fish finder you getting?

Update:

Don't buy one of these. I got it home and took some pics with it! Could NOT get this thing to take a clear pic. I don't care what setting I had it on, it still took crappy pics! Plus for a touch screen, the screen was not very clear! Soooo I took it back and uograded for a Canon Powershot SD780 IS Digital Elph 12.1 MP! I tried it out both on store and at home and it is simply amazing! Its small and sleek and compact. Its is a satin black finish that looks sick. The picture quality is better by tenfold! I'd recommend it to anybody. I paid $214 after tax at Walmart for it.

I'm getting an Eagle fishfinder. They seem nice for the price. I told her not to get me a real expensive one bc its goin on jon boat. I just need to know temp, depth, and where fish are. I don't need some high fangled high tech sonar imaging color screeen thing for a jon boat.
I've heard really good things about threm!

At least you found this out beforehand. I actually purchased that same Canon SD780 for my parents on black friday from amazon so I'm glad to hear you like it too! Have you tried recording video yet? I'm curious how that will turn out.

I'm glad you like it, but I was really un-impressed.

Tom, I didn't try video, but if its half as good as the pics, it will be great! I just read that it shoots video in HD, so it should be good to go!

I know it's a bit more expensive, but this past summer my wife and I bought the Nikon Cool Pix P90 (it's either P or D, it's not a SLR). We love the camera. I think it was around $450, but this time of year you should be able to find some pretty good deals. Before that we had a Cannon Sure Shot along the lines of your Nikon and used it for years with no problems what so ever. Good luck with your next camera.

I'm surprised you had trouble with the Nikon. I'm a Canon man, but Nikon makes good stuff. I guess your copy was just a dud. Bound to happen with electronics.

Good thing you checked it out and were able to return it. I'm also glad my wife and I didn't go for that one!

I've heard some really good things about the Eagle fish finders.
