Default I need YOUR help! (Need design ideas to help win $$$)

First of all, I'm Jewish and celebrate Chanukah.... The Jewish club on campus sponsors a Menorah building contest which is voted on by the students and whoever has the most votes wins. Last year I won and got $250.

Here is the menorah I built last year.

A menorah has 8 candles at one height and one that is higher which is used to light the 8 others, one each night of chanukah.

This year I want to do something with steel/welding and want to also incorporate either "Long Beach State" "CSULB" or "Go Beach"... something like that.

Money will be used to mod the truck, so help me win! I'd love to hear some ideas you may have.

Thanks!

Gaa, he doesn't have them yet!

Same concept, but with the Long Beach cut out of steel and the candles sitting on some old pistons. Might run you more than the 250, though, but it'd catch their eyes.

Holy Crap!?! Hope that doesn't tip onto any kids.

I think something that could look really good and work with the candles would be to make the David out of 1"x1/4" Plexi, much the same as you did.

But the plexi would catch the light and make the forward edge of the star glow.

I am sure with your apparent talent you could really make something nice.

I suppose that by using colored candles you could possibly even influence the glow of the star.

Just don't set the candles too close to the plexi. . . . .

HTH.

when i put the corrugated steel in i wasnt too gentle with it. As long as i could get it to fit I was happy...which meant the thin steel moved around. I wanted it to look as rusty/shitty welds/not too straight as possible.
