Traxxas Summit
I haven't had an R/C car in probably 20 years, but when I saw the Traxxas Summit posted on TRS a few weeks ago, I had to have it.
Full time 4wd. 2 speed transmission. Front and rear selectable lockers. 7" tires. Tons of suspension travel. 20+ mph in high gear, unstoppable in low gear with the diffs locked. Titan 775 motor with ridiculous torque. LED headlights and taillights. Tunable and upgradable springs and oil filled shocks. Water resistant - no problem driving it in water and snow.
It's BIG....
Serious flex....
The guts....
The controller...
The trans and lockers are controlled right from the transmitter. Range up to a quarter mile.
Couple more shots....
This thing is wicked. It's a great all-purpose truck, great for both hauling ass and crawling. Racing, climbing, jumping.... anything. It's very well built and durable, too.
Needless to say, this is what I've been doing with most of my free time lately.

I love those things! I hate the price though. I need to get rid of my emaxx and a few others and get one of those and make it brushless!

Yeah, tell me about it! It's an expensive hobby, that's for sure!
I've been reading about brushless motor swaps and LiPo batteries. I'm sure it's just a matter of time until I do that.

If that were my truck, I probably wouldn't make it brushless to be honest. I would just switch to lipos and run it on 4s. You'll have more punch and more run time. Doing that was the best thing I could do for my e-maxx. It makes such a difference.

You don't understand what brushless means? I can't think of a good definition for it other than... if you have brushless motor you shall go fast. LOL It's more complicated than that but that's the basic.

I know how a brushless motor works.
I'm confused because it looked like you were saying you would get a brushless motor for it, then your next post you said you wouldn't.
I'm a noob when it comes to R/C cars, but I'm learning fast. I know the only negative thing about brushless motors is they're not waterproof. But there's a forum on the Traxxas.com site, and I believe they're working on (if it's not available already) a waterproof brushless.

Yea I change my mind a good bit haha. What I meant is that it would be REALLY cool to have a brushless summit but at the same time it would get torn up quick, so in that case I wouldn't actually make it brushless. I think that makes sense? Haha

I so want one of those but I can't justify the cost. The initial cost is pricey, and I know I would start modding it eventually, then it would just be a cash hole . They look like a ton of fun though.

makes me kinda miss my Revo (nitro version of same truck)
but you're right...HUGE money hole, it was my main hobby since i was 12....i'd save up every penny for the newest upgrades. The Revo was my last truck i ever bought...aluminum A-arms, long travel suspension, high torque servos, tuned pipe...i easily spent $1500 with that truck alone.
Brushless is the way to go for power....its alot better than $30 a gallon for nitro

How much did that one cost you?
