Default My $25 garage mod! crappy cell pics inside!

one of my co-workers just purchased a new tool box so he sold me his old one for $25. im going to use it at home in my garage. its not the best looking box but the price was right!
loaded up at work..

and just a couple randoms of one of my work toolboxes in my work area.

my other toolbox is a kennedy table top box that i keep all my precision measuring tools in.

do you post over at F-150forum do you? i posted in a thread titled "machinists" ( http://www.f150forum.com/f15/machinists-43311/ ) over there. it seems i remember you saying you were a member over there. or maybe im on crack ha ha. anyways, as far as advice, learn as many different machines as possible, from manual mills, lathes and grinders all the way up to the cnc machines. if possible try and get into an apprentice program or just a job at a machine shop. i learned more from the old toolmakers that i worked under than i ever did at school. im not saying school is bad, it will teach you the fundimentals but real world experience is were the real learing happens. if you have any other questions feel free to ask me, im happy to share any experience i have.

It's an awesome career I program CNC mills and the wire edm at work and Contract draft on the side. I would sugest you find a smaller company to work at the money mot not be as good but it's better than working at a large company. What school are you going to I went to Alfred state and had a good time none of that liberal arts crap but it sucks If you want to get a engeneering degree later you have to start all over again.

you chose a great career IMO, of coarse im biased but its a very fulfilling job. i really enjoy taking a raw peice of steel and turning it into a component for a million dollar machine. feels pretty good when you see the parts you made put together into a working machine.

my guess is less than 8 hours with a good solid model and the right software but probly 80+ hour non stop run time
