Any of them really.
I own a Mossburg Slug gun in 12 gauge. a 12ga Remington 870 express super mag. in field/slug barrels and i just bought a benelli last year.

I've been hunting/shooting as long as i can remember. the single most common shotgun i've ever seen has been the 870 express in 12ga. I own two 870s. A 12 ga i mentioned above, and a 20ga Wingmaster. they are GREAT beginner guns.

The mossburg i picked up from a guy enlisting into the service, i got it for 100 bucks so i just used that as my deer shotgun. i would have to say that its an OK shotgun.

I shot a friend of mines Beneilli Nova last year, loved it so much i went out and bought my own SuperNova. I do a lot of goose and duck hunting and i have to say it beats the 870 express anyday. quicker action, smoother shots, nice recoil. I used to be a 870 guy until i got that.

Mossberg 500 or Remington 870.. I have the 500 and want to get an 870 express, also 12 gauge. my 500 is having ejection problem but it is also not the newest.

Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 are both excellent choices. I own one of each. I personally like the Mossberg better, just because of the tang mounted safety, but both are fine shotguns. 12 gage is the way to go, unless recoil is an issue.

Mossberg 500 here. Lots of experience with it and the Remi 870. Both are nice guns. But as a few have stated, I like the safety better on the Mossy

im currently hunting with a 12 gauge this season (i usually use a 20 gauge) and i have not had any issues with meat vs 12 gauge in the case of doves. if ur blowing them apart, wait until they get a little further. i typically shoot em at 20 - 45 yards

----------

altho sometimes some will get within 10 yards...in which case i still have no issues minus 1 or 2 pellets going thru

Go old school Winchester Mod. 97 if you take care of it, it will take care of you almost 60 years of action mine has seen and still works like brand new.
