need help choosing a .22!
hey guys,
so i've been really itching to get a fun shooting gun recently, and I want to know in your opines which are the best .22's out there.
I would prefer a semi-auto rifle that I could customize to my own liking and thats about $500 or less. thx

Re: need help choosing a .22!
Ruger 10/22. Possilby the most customizable .22 on the market. I believe they are within your price range. I have a Marlin 795 myself and have thousands of rounds with no issues. Cost $130 or so but any modifications would have to be custom. I think the Ruger is what you are looking for.

Re: need help choosing a .22!
Ruger all the way! This is my Realtree Camo semi-auto 10/22. It is a very fun little gun!...
This one with the scope runs about $350...

Re: need help choosing a .22!
Lock thread.
Ruger 10/22. With 500 bucks you can make a sweet one. You can find the gun for $200 all day then the options are endless
Since we are talking about 10/22's I don't know how many people know but ruger now has a 25 round clip. Steel lips, very nicely made and you can take it apart to clean it. I'm so tired of the butler creek clips.

Re: need help choosing a .22!
Same as the rest of these guys. Get a 10/22 for $200 and then customize the hell out of it. You can get all sorts of parts for it to either turn it into a tack driver our you can turn it into a bad ass tactical style rifle. You can do a lot with one with $300 after original purchase.

Re: need help choosing a .22!
Other then the 10/22 you could get the henry lever action 22.
I own both and they are bith fun as hell..
I haven't done any real customization of the 10/22 other than some f/o sights and a couple diff sized clips (got a couple 25 round banana clips but I saw a 100 round drum!! Would be bad ass!)
I haven't done anything to my henry but there's something about a lever action that I really enjoy.. grat gun for shotting around, damn accurate too..

Re: need help choosing a .22!
no surprise by the reactions towards the ruger, but for me I never liked the 10/22. I much preferred the Marlin's I used and personally bought a bolt actions CZ USA 452 which I obviously prefer over everything else. Plus the ruger is UGLY

Re: need help choosing a .22!
definitely the 10/22. i put a tapco tactical stock on mine, with a 25 round banana clip, looks so clean! plus it is a tackdriver for a .22
