pre-paid visa card

i want to get one to buy a couple things online for my truck. do i just go to CVS or a walgreens to get one? and can i use them to pay for stuff online?

Read the fine print. Some will start to take money off the card after so many months

ya ive heard about the geendot card but someone told me u have to wait like 2 weeks to even get it? ad then you have to keep filling it up with money? i really only wanna use it like twice

check with your bank, my debit card has visa right on it. if i use the card as a credit card the money is taken right out of my checking account and i don't get charged a fee for that service.

I think he wants to get one becuase he does not have a bank account I may be wrong

I can use my atm/debit card anywhere and never get charged a fee. I can use it on the internet to purchase something or use it at the walmart and run it as credit so i dont have to use the pin number

you may be right stl. but even if you open an account in a bank that don't charge a minimum fee if your account drops below a certain level you can always add the money to it when you want to use it and certain banks won't cash checks when you don't have an account with them.

Back in the day you could cash a check anywhere. Like you said though most wont anymore unless you have a account with them. Some pawn shops wont even cash checks here anymore.

i feel deprived, because i've never seen a pawn shop. i wouldn't have an idea what one would be like

Pawn shops around here are good to visit toward the first of the month and last of the month. Generally when bills are due, and people pawn their stuff so they can pay bills

i get the concept but being i live in a very rural area i'd have to travel to Erie or Pittsburgh ,pa to find a really good one?

no, i have a checking accoutn. i used to have a debit card but i screwed that up when i decided to not keep track of my balance and overdrafted a little too much lol. so i got rid of it and just got the atm card but u cant use it on the internet
