Re: Sell / Keep?
The car you posted in your original post is totally overpriced; high mileage (anything over 100k is considered high mileage), bad color, not that great of gas mileage.
If you want to spend 4k on a car, get a 90's Neon for <2k in great shape, dump another $2k into it to get it exactly how you want it, and then have fun with your new car that tops out at 135+ mph and gets 40mpg when driven conservatively.

Irrelevant. 100k+ is high mileage regardless of make. The brand on a vehicle doesn't make a difference if the motor wasn't well-maintained.

Your point? They're great little economy cars. Was my first car, and wish I had never gotten rid of it.

Re: Sell / Keep?
lolol there's honestly nothing wrong with a maintained neon. Mine made it over 200k on the original factory clutch, I was the second owner. PO was a close family friend who kept all service records and informed me that he had never serviced the clutch.
2.0 SOHC >205k on the clock before I grenaded the trans doing burn outs all the time on an open diff FWD car.
So you say Neons are junk because they are a Dodge/Chrysler product, and you're a Toyota/Ford fan. Crash test for a Neon is as bad as a Ranger, Neons are fun little cars for their price tag, and damn resilient if I might say so myself.
Bash em all you want, but it's just an uninformed personal opinion. When's the last time you owned one?

Re: Sell / Keep?
I am not a fan of any Make persay, I am fan of reliability So if the Ranger is relaible, then I will own one whether its a Ford, toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan or not. I will own other makes as long as they proven reliable.

Re: Sell / Keep?
Meh. To each his own I guess. All I know is that you buy a used vehicle, you work on a used vehicle, you fix and fix and fix a used vehicle, and in the end, you sell it for another.
That's how life is... The Neon was by far my most reliable vehicle to date.
----------
My Ranger's the most unreliable vehicle I've had to date. It's really the luck of the draw I guess.

Like you said, its hit and miss from car to car, one civic>civic or Ranger>ranger or neon>Neon. its all about maintenance and luck of the draw. I've had nothing but badluck with GM products but others stand by them.
