This thread is definitely one of the most pointless threads I have seen in a while. Congratulations!

lol you all are talking about something that most likely does not even apply to you and people basically saying that it should be legal for 16 year olds to strip. What a great thread...

The store owners support this because 99% of the kids that this bans from the mall are not there to shop to begin with. They're there to hang out and do whatever it is they do besides shopping. It annoys the people who ARE there to shop. If the kids are upset, they should have thought about that before being *******s all evening long in the mall.

Those kids suck!
Too bad drastic measures had to be taken!

seems reasonable enough since for some reason kids want to hang out at the mall. Never got that.
Same here. It is unfortunate that some ruin it for all, but I never hung out at the mall. I was always at home studying, at a friend's house, or viewing www.fordrangerforums.com. I avoid the mall even at XMAS. All the merchandise is so marked up it is ridiculous.

+1, but the other factor besides causing trouble and getting in the way is that they linger -- a lot of times outside by the doors smoking and blocking access for those who are there to purchase something. If they are underage and have no job, what is the point in hanging out there? Most places have parks, side-walks, hang-outs of some sorts?

Unfortunately, yes. But, I have a philosophy that makes sense, "If you pretend you should be there, you probably should be, but if you act suspiciously like you shouldn't be there then you probably shouldn't be there". Unless you look young, I'm sure the security can't be everywhere. If you have money and happen to buy something, you're probably O.K. I don't think you will get stopped at the door or have someone tracking security down. It is when a person kinda strolls, and especially in a group that draws suspicion. If you aren't doing anything wrong, what is the worst that can happen? Stores can't ban a person unless a criminal act takes place, such as shoplifting. If stores want to risk losing money, then they don't deserve your business. Do you really want to shop there? They risk losing more when kids tend to cause trouble and others become uncomfortable and rush purchases.
