Default Lookin at a gun.

It's a S&W Sigma .40. Any opinions?

Smith and wesson makes quality stuff. most of the time anyways. What are you looking for in a pistol

looks like a prety good deal, plus its hard to go wrong with a S&W. 40. bullets are more pricey than 9 but they looks to be a sound setup

If your stuck on S&W auto's I would rather recommend the M&P over the sigma. personally I like the feel of the gun and how it shoots better. also the finish is leaps and bounds better

Smith and Wesson is a good company but the Sigma is a little finiky. Has a tendency to jam up every now and then. If you want an S&W but don't want to spend the money for and M&P (which I would recommend) take a look at their SD series.

Or better yet get one of these:

Funny how that weapon averages around 600 dollars and is out of many peoples price range who would use it for lude acts. Glocks being used for crime is a mass media problem. they dont know the difference between a glock and a camera. Now a hi point or such would be more applicable to your statement. And watch the racial comments. That will get you banned.

The sigma is a giant pile of shit. No better than a hi-point. Had one and lost my ass on it. Couldn't hit a bulls ass with a bass fiddle. And I'm a damn good shot.

Glock FTW! I love my 17 so much I picked up a 26 for carry purposes. The Smith Sigma series are based on the glock design, and IIRC, glock sued their butts for it. Sigma is roughly the same size as the Glock 19/23.

What you intend to use the firearm for is important to consider. In my mind, for personal defense, quality>cost. I am not saying the Sigma isn't up to par because I have had no personal experience with it. With that being said I still trust my life to my Rossi snub.....and like it so much I bought their 6" 357.

I don't know much about S&W. but i can tell you shooting S&W .40s are worth the extra price. I carry a Walther P99 that shoots .40 S&W and i love it.
I know a couple of guys that carry Glocks, One of them was in a serious motorcycle accident with his Glock last year in his pocket and the gun didn't go off and took a serious beating. It slid across the cement about 30 yards, the handle of the gun was ground down by the rubbing and the thing still shoots like the day he took it out of the box.

I have a SW Sigma 9mm and used to own a SW Sigma 40 as well but ended up selling it. The 9mm is ok...carried it for about 6 months as a duty weapon. The 40 mm on the other hand I didn't care for much. Too many problems (hanging up, on hell of a triger pull, and cost of 40 mm ammo. If your stuck on Sigma I would go with the 9mm In my opinion its a better option.

A few years ago, I purchased a CZ 40 S&W. Nice pistol...nice caliber. I also handload this cartridge. It helps when you shoot alot as I do. I also have a S&W 686-4" 357 mag. Really like this gun...older model BUT like new.
