True, having a single cab sucks. Don't see how people fit in the back of ext. cabs either. Plenty of room in most full size trucks though. I could fit 5 comfortably in my old 250. 6 if we were in a jam.

my truck is going on 18 years old. =) an so far i haven't really had any bad problems. when trucks are getting that old they tend get those little bugs in the systems. (wiring, rust, loose steering) etc. i would ask if he would let u get a small test drive out of it. check to see if all the electric is working correctly. see if all the gauges in the dash work. an check to see if there is any rust on the body or frame. sounds like from what u say the body is restored correctly an is good. =) next i would check to see how the engine runs. see if there is any knocks or a miss. if none i would take the deal. =) cause from what u say it has been restored correctly an your going to just use it for hauling and a little riding on the side it won't take to big of a bite out of your gas money. an u said it won't take to much on your insurance. =) an where its an older model if something does tear up. u have more of a chance to repair it yourself than have put in a garage an paying way to much for what could be a small computer glitch or some technical error. in my opion i like to be self suffient than rather having to relie on a garage. good luck on your decision. =)

Paying closer attention to the ad would have been great huh? lol.

In that case, yea it's got the original motor, but that just goes back again to how many miles does it have?

about 113xxx. Motor is really strong but I'm not sure about other drive train components. I've driven it a few times before he really started working on it. Clutch was slippy then but other than that it drove pretty clean. Clutch has since been replaced. I'll be sure to get a complete break down of everything later now. But for now I'm still not 100% interested.

Personally I would hold off if you're not 100% interested. I myself can't drive a truck unless I like it. You're pretty much just wasting your money.

At 113,000, the engine shouldn't be in too bad of shape as long as it's been maintained and hasn't seen high rpms. You're gonna buy it blind either way, and as long as this isn't a DD, you should be fine.

Engine could be worse off with lower mileage. This truck has averaged roughly 4,000 miles a year which is not a whole not. When an engine sits unused is when it can run into problems; anything from a seized sparkplug, to sludge in the valves, to a rusted cylinder wall all will happen when an engine sits.
