It's the only V6 that I consider a muscle car. I also like this monster too:
Like I said earlier, the only reason I consider the Grand National a muscle car was because its speed and power was "under rated" and my choice was also based apon sentimental reasons as well. It is the only V6 I consider a muscle car.

Re: Your Favorite Muscle Cars....
Hmm love me some Grand Nationals, but the 87 GNX version was the best, as the Buick guys say going fast with class...my favorite muscle car I would consider a muscle and most others wouldn't either, they would be the 79-87 cutlasses, and regals, old people cars with a shit load of power....my brother had a 87 cutlass with a 307 that ran 12.5 in the 1/4

Re: Your Favorite Muscle Cars....
Gotta be the 1968 Dodge Dart GTS 340
I love the 1967 Pontiac GTO as well
but the Dart handled better cause it was lighter and was almost as fast as charger 440

Yep the 87 GNX was the best model they had out of that line up. It is also a favorite of mine. And how can you forget about the old Cutlass 442. Those are really getting hard to find along with the old Grand National and 87 GNX's. There's been so many killer cars that it's hard to pick a favorite. There's one car that GM, and Ford hated more than any other model ever produced by Mopar. The 1971-1974 Dodge Demon. That thing would skip pavement from the factory. Even a 440 Charger couldn't catch it at one time or another. And no I'm not talking about the Plymoth Duster Demon either. There is a difference now.

That's if it hasn't been modded out Andy. If you knew how to do "certain things" with those cars, 9 times out of 10 they couldn't be caught.

Re: Your Favorite Muscle Cars....
most cars from the 80s that were modded out had nice rims and loud sounding exhaust and some butch job of silicone on the engine cause the head gasket blew. I have seen my fare share of garden shed f*ck ups on "muscle cars" from the late 70s and 80s. In my opinions if the damn thing doesnt have at least 250 HP from the factory, then it aint a muscle car (pending the v8 from 60s-70s-80s-90s, i realize that some cars were light enough to not need 250 HP, but still...)

I'm talking about a properly modded out engine Andy. Not a hacked up car by some wanna be that doesn't know a piston head from their sister's titty. The 1964 Hemi that was modded by Richard Petty's crew was a prime example. In the 1964 Daytona 500 King Richard lapped 2nd place and led for over 180 laps. He went on after that to win 9 more races in a row and that's when Nascar said good bye to the Hemi and introduced a "de-tuned version" under the new "production rule".

No doubt man. I was talking about a factory engine when those cars first came out. I loved how a big block was choked from the factory back then. For example: let's say you just got a 426 Hemi back in the 60's and it was only putting out about roughly 300 horses. Then you see Richard Petty's race car that won the Daytona 500 with the same engine putting out about 700 plus horses and god know how much torque. I'd be a little po'ed about that myself.
