This is what kids listen to now a days, Im still a kid my self but I dont listen to rap or hip hop. Listen to one of the most famous rappers carefully, you wont be to happy. I know Im not.

i read about that im 18 and i dont listen to rap either, he did apologize though and had an explanation for why he said that, though i dont agree at least he apologized instead of being ignorant to those that serve and protect our great country and hurting families that have military ties.

He is a joke...and here is what he had to say about it.....

As an artist, I let my words get the best of me. Sometimes there are things that we feel, things that we want to express, and when we put them on paper and speak them out loud, they can come out wrong.

When I expressed my frustration with the US Army, not only did my words come out wrong, I was wrong to even speak them. So, I write this to give my sincerest apology to all members of the United States military services, as well as their families that were offended by my most recent lyrics.

As a young man who grew up in the post-9/11 era, I have watched our country fight two wars that seem like they are never going to end.

I have seen thousands and thousands of our brave men and women get killed in battle and often times, I think for what? A lot of people in this country are struggling to make ends meet and I think a lot about what if we had never gone to war.

Where would our economy be? Our schools, our after-school and work programs, our streets? I mean, damn, 48 people got shot in New York City just this past weekend ... in 3 days ... I'm not saying that it is just because of a bad economy, but at a certain point we have to take care of our own people.

In no way would I ever want to offend those who are protecting our freedoms ... a lot of homeboys who I grew up with, a lot of people who come from the neighborhoods we live in ... In no way do I want to hurt any of our honorable soldiers who put their lives at risk, regardless of how they feel about the two wars we fight in.

I am just frustrated that we haven't been able to bring you all home quick enough and my frustration got the best of me. I am deeply sorry.

To answer your original question; his lyrics are offensive not only to the soldiers and their families, but also to those who care about EVERY soldier deployed to other parts of the world, honest reasons or not.

This little "oppressed" black man thinks he's hot shit because a bunch of other sub-par I.Q. morons like the trash he calls rap, yet he can't step back from his own ego to take two seconds and think about what he is publishing. If he truly feels that way about all of the innocent soldiers overseas, then he is as pitiful as the media-fueled war they are a part of.

Everyone has the right to say what they want, he was IMO out of hand with what he said, no should he be bashed of course, should it be a big deal, yes and no. I was a Navy Brat growing up so I have strong feelings for this subject...and tons and tons of respect for the USA Troops. And I agree with Kyle, we need the lynching mobs back.

i don't think he has a big ego. i bet you haven't followed his life or anything besides his music? a few years a go after the VMA's there was a "Behind the Music" episode about him. Very insightful to where he came from, his upbringing, early career, everything. for his success these recent years, he still seemed very down to earth, amazed by his own success, and aware of where he came from. after katrina, he went back to new orleans and tried his best to help how he could. also none of his music is written beforehand. like jay-z, he comes up with his lyrics while in the recording studio.

but as far as what he said, i find it no different than those who bash bush/obama. we have the freedom to elect whomever we want to run the country, so it's no ones fault but our own that we're in this situation. all this bull shit about WMD's and going into countries where we shouldn't be was a grudge that george hw bush kept since he was in office, and his stupid son was dumb enough to act on.

true, this country may not be as free as it used to be, but i find it funny that everyone is getting mad at a musician for behaving similarly to a majority of the country.
