I'm not trying to start an argument. I just seems that you guys lose your load for anything Ford releases.

Quoted from 4 wheeler magazine:

To make the ultimate OEM truck, SVT focused squarely on the chassis, which receives a 10mm increase in wheelbase and 3.5-inch-per-side increase in track thanks to massive aluminum lower control arms, heavy-duty upper arms with giant ball joints and a modified steering rack with performance tie rods. With specially developed internal 2.5-inch triple-bypass Fox shocks with 47mm pistons and unique high angle 31-spline CV-axles, the Raptor achieves 11.2 inches of front wheel travel. Out back, a two-leaf spring pack works with the piggyback-reservoir versions of the Fox shocks to deliver 12.4 inches of wheel travel to the widened 34-spline 9.75-inch rear axle. Limiting travel at both ends are microcellular jounces.

The frame is the same as the standard F150. The width comes from the A arms. Technically you could bolt all of this onto your standard F150.

They have been out for a while. I see 'em around on a regular basis.
I suppose the fact they're built right here has something to do with that.

I guess it's just a matter of opinion, but I think there's enough changes made to it to really differentiate it from the the regular F-150.

the only part used off the stock f-150 are the headlights and the engine.

whippersnapper02 said it was pretty much the same as a stock F-150, and I said "not quite".

You're saying it's a completely different truck, and I find myself again saying "not quite".

That statement simply isn't true.

My point was really... who here is gonna spend the money on the raptor and leave it stock?? My GUESS is that everyone here has a list of mods they would do, even to that truck. I'm not saying the truck is IDENTICAL to the standard F150s but it's also not a COMPLETELY different truck... I look at the price difference and think of all that money I could put into an XLT and build it up and still have a capable truck.... or better yet... put ALL that money into my Ranger :-).... just my $0.02

Good points, but there are some ways the Ranger just can't compare to a F-150 regardless of how much you build it up.

As far as I know, there are no mods that can make the Ranger seat more than 2 people comfortably.

Extending the cab like that you'd almost be better off cutting the top off the back of an explorer and boxing it in. I've seen something like it done on a Grand Cherokee.

I would love a Raptor. And the new F-150 and the Raptor are the same and different. They don't share half of the body panels with each other either to accomodate the extra width of the axles and suspension. But at the same time you see that the cab, engine and the frame are all the same.

And as much as I love my Ranger, there are some things that a fullsize are always going to do better. They can tow more, and have bigger beds. I've own full size trucks but didn't need them, so I bought a Sonoma and got my Ranger. They both do a lot of things, but neither one of them is great when I have to tow another car on a trailer, load a huge couch, an apartment, or multiple atvs etc. My old 82 3/4 ton chev was great for that and was much more stable towing a car.
