Re: R.I.P - Real American Hero's
Very sad day. My thoughts and prayers goes out to their teammates, friends, and above all family.
"A hero is somebody who is selfless, who is generous in spirit, who just tries to give back as much as possible and help people. A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really deeply cares." ---unknown quote
but I think that sums up what they did and still are doing for our country. Thank you to all who have served and are serving still!

Re: R.I.P - Real American Hero's
This is not the guys who got bin laden. I know the news is making it sound like that. These are other guys who were not involved with the bin laden take down
----------
I will also add, on the radio today they really had the facts screwed up. They said that the taliban had shot down the helicopter that crashed "during" the raid that got binladen. idiots

What makes them heroes? They made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for you and I. They died fighting for our freedom of speech, so you can ask what makes them a hero. They nor you may have supported the war but they fought on, doing what needed to be done to make it possible for you and I to talk on a ranger forum online about what makes them a hero. They are heroes because they died defending our freedom. That is what makes them a hero.

Re: R.I.P - Real American Hero's
a hero is a hero because we say he is. Its an opinion that is given power by faith and belief. I believe in America and the people protecting her. When someone dies or lives fighting for something I believe in, I call them a hero. You can call them whatever you like. Calling someone a hero is not so different than calling them beautiful.

This is awesome, I had never thought about it like that.
But so many people call them heroes just because they are fighting for our country, but what about those soldiers a few years back who were sniping innocent civilians for no reason? Are they heroes because they were in our army? And as for fighting for our freedom? There are politicians here in the home land fighting for our freedom also, no one calls them heroes? Why is this? Oh because they didn't die doing it? If it's the death that makes them heroes, I have a friend that committed suicide 2 years ago, why has no one proclaimed him a hero? I dont like the idea of calling them a hero just because the were in our military
