Sounds like a loss cause, let her live and learn from her mistakes and sleep well by knowing you have something reliable.

Ah Andy,
How are you doing my friend? To answer your question I haven't been sleeping due to her schedule colliding with my schedule. I am all for letting her learn this lesson the hard way, but I'll end up paying the price as well by taking her to work and various other activities. Her schedule is rougher than a old shoe passing off as a $2.00 dollar steak if you get my drift. I'll advise her as I go. But she has seen what repairing something has gotten her though. Basically she doesn't want to spend any money and that's all there is to it really. I haven't lost hope man. She's starting to listen a bit especially after her brother stopped by and proved how much of an idiot he really is. He thinks mom's car is worth around $5 to $6K and we both know that a 10 year old Neon isn't worth that. I called him an idiot to his face and told him why it aint worth that.

Neons weren't worth $5 to $6K brand new lol...hopefully you can get her out of that pile soon

Kool man. L.O.L. Now that's funny. She's now opening up to other areas within the vehicle market and searching for options. I've told her that the days of a New car's payment being around $250 bucks a month are long gone especially with every option known to man that's factory installed. She's leaning towards a Ford Focus and she keeps asking about the Ford Fusion. I like both of those choices that she's interested in, but the Fusion would be a tad out of her budget, especially if she considers a hybrid. She asked me the difference between the 2 versions of the Fusion today. I told her about $8K more for the hybrid than the regular Fusion, plus only select Ford dealerships can work on them and they must be Ford certified as well as ASE or there goes the warranty. Plus the batteries used in hybrids these days aint cheap at all. When it comes time to replace them, they're worth more than the car is.

That's my opinion on them too. During my training as a tech, that's about all we worked on when we first started training. Every once in a while we'd get something different like pontiac G6's or Chevy Colbalts which is nothing more than a bad copy of a neon. I didn't get to work on hardly any Fords at Nascar tech until I took the Ford Fact program that they have down there. About all I saw in there was F150's and F250's as well as the Mustangs and the Focus. Basically all I saw concerning Fords in general was bad maintence on behalf of the customers who owned them. I never got to see a Ranger during my time there ever.

Well people I have an update. Mom and I went to 2 dealers and both were different as night and day. The first dealership we went to, told us an outright lie. It was where I got my ranger 7 years ago. He tried to tell me that Ford Motor company aint planning on producing alot of the 2012 Ford Focus. That car is extremely popular right now and they are sold real fast. We called him a liar point blank and walked away. The second dealer we went to was in Bristol, TN about 3 miles north of Bristol Motor Speedway. He told us that Ford couldn't make the Focus fast enough to meet the demand for them which is alot more believable than what that doosh bag tried to tell us at the other dealership. Mom was offered $1,500 for her Neon which sounds about right and she'd have to put between $5 and $6K down and she'd be paying on it for 72 months in order to get her payment to $250.00 dollars a month. They'll be calling her today to let her know if the dealer they're getting the car from still has it. She wanted the Kona Blue with power everything including a sunroof. They didn't have one but the dealer was willing to look and see if he can get one off another dealership. He was a little bit "old school" if you get my drift and was willing to work with us on this. Empire Ford is not worth even going to. They didn't have hardly anything and what little they had was way north of $30K and some of what they did have there was almost as much as a house. When I got my ranger there 7 years ago, Empire Ford was a much better dealership to say the least than what it is today. The place that was willing to work with us is known as Friendship Ford and they greeted us very nicley compared to Empire Ford. I just can't believe that the stupid doosh bag at Empire Ford tried to tell us that Ford Motor company wasn't going to produce but a certain number of the Focus like he did and expect us to believe it. That guy doesn't know the difference between the clutch and steering wheel. He also tried to tell us that the Focus came with a V6 as we were leaving. I laughed at him on that. That has to be someone trying to get rich and just started in with the business of vehicles who doesn't care even want to know about what he's trying to sell.

Hope all goes well and she gets her car, glad she has come around to getting a new car worth a car payment, instead of making a car payment to fix her car monthly...
