Default The Sen. Reid bill fails...

This plan that was put forward in the house today was voted apon just about an hour and half ago. It fell by the wayside. I watched this all happen on CSPAN. Right now Nancy Pelosi and Senator Reid are at the White House meeting with Obama as we speak. It's feared that an "executive order" will be used to raise the debt ceiling so the federal government can keep from defaulting on their loans. It's awfully funny that the national debt ceiling has been raised over 70 times since 1962. These polichickens need to grow a set, and get their thongs out of a knot. If the debt ceiling is raised add 2.4 trillion more to the national debt which would put it to nearly 17 trillion dollars in debt. They need to quit spending like there is no tomorrow and you can't spend your way out of debt with money you don't have. What do you guys think about this mess? The deadline is this coming tuesday.

I am moving to Canada. These damn politicans are throwing bills away before the even reach the opposite side of capital hill! The Senate and the HOuse bothe did the same shit.....why is it so hard to balance a damn budget? Everyone has been in debt before but the solution is simple.....DONT BORROW MORE THAN YOU MAKE!

Right now these dipshsts have us on a plan to pay off our debt in 15 years? LIke that will ever happen. Why is everyone fighting Boehner so hard on the Constitutional amendment requiring Congress to balance their budget annually? This sht shoulda been done decades ago and we would have never gotten into this mess. The whole world economy will be effected by this and the bipartisan morons are still debating whose dcks are bigger.

I have never been so digsuted in my life! America was founded to LIMIT the power of the federal government and give all the power to the state. The states are in close ties with their citizens and can the deligate personal issues like welfare, unemployment, social security, medicare, etc. if the people of that state choose so.

The more reliance Americans have on their government, the less freedoms they have. It is no surpise that people are constantly asking for more from their government...in return, the government asks more from the people (TAXES). If people want more government, they need to pay more taxes.

Reduce the size of the government, delegate the power away from the federal government and back into the states, problem SOLVED!

The government will NOT default. That is a scare tactic used by the liberals.

You are right though. This spending is ridiculous.

It may default or it may not.....ultimately, America has bigger issues. The founding fathers would be disgusted with our country today. Read the Declaration of Independence, and you will see many similarities between than and now.

John Adams once refused to proved financial aid to France during a catastrophe because he could not justify spending taxpayer dollars on a just cause that was unconstitutional nontheless.

Today, America spends 3 times as much on NATO then all of the over 24 countries combined. America recently spent 1 billion in 3 months for the Libya crisis.

This. What you see on the news and what the politicians say is pure bull shit. It's a tactic they use to make themselves look good so that Americans think they're doing a good job, when in reality they aren't doing anything at all except raking in big fat paychecks.

Any American who thinks what the politicians are doing right now is making them look good should not be an American. They are portraying themselves as irresponsible, bipartisan, individuals that lack unity and interest in America and the world. Have no fear though....Americans continue to elect politicians, regardless if they have been convicted of corruption or not.

The government is too big of a bitch to admit that they messed up and now they put on shows that convince idiots that they are doing a good job just like stated above, its a show nobody wants to or cares to watch, like the bachelor but with idiot politicians playing the star roles. Thank God we are still able to speak our minds.

Basically what is really happening is if they don't reach an agreement soon certain people won't get paid. CNBC just broke it down a little while ago from a business stand point. They compared the U.S. Government's bank accounts with Apple Computers a little while ago. Apple spends a great deal of money but never more than what they bring in. At the end of todays business day, Apple's bank accounts totalled over 76 trillion dollars and they only spent about a third of what they brought in. The U.S. Government only had 36 trillion dollars in their bank accounts at the end of todays business day, but they spent over 3 quarters of what they brought in for the day. But from a business stand point, what's wrong with this picture? They need to quit spending because as it stands right now the U.S. Dollar is only worth about 40 cents. The rest goes towards our national debt and uncontrolled spending. Basicly the U.S. government has been signing blank checks that their collective behinds can't cash. If there is no agreement soon, soliders and their families wouldn't get paid, senior citizens whom rely on SSI checks wouldn't get paid and neither will people whom are receiving disability benefits. This also affects other countries who do business with the U.S. and can result in global impact. Isn't it remarkable how histroy repeats itself? Didn't the U.S. go through this once when the stock market crashed in 1929 and caused a huge and lengthy depression?

----------

we need to quit spending money we don't have and legalize medical grade marajuana. That would be the only way I see fixing our economy and creating jobs.

Just gonna through this out there. STEVE JOBS FOR PRESIDENT!

It's time we get some of these corrupt and ass backwards politicians OUT of office and starting voting in people who have some knowledge of business and care about this country. Not just attorneys and the rich who are so self centered they will try to get NASA to get Earth to actually revolve around them.

There is one key factor needed to be a politician.....MONEY

Without it, it is impossible to have your voice heard. There are over 300 million Americans and I guarantee there are better candidates than the handful they give us each year. The problem is, we never hear about them because they cant afford it. Every year it is the same issue: which candidate is the lesser of the two evils!?!

So where did you study macro economics? There is way more to this problem than a possible default.
