just another day in my life..(don't mind the ranting)
So today started out pretty good.
Wake up to some morning sex. (Always a great way to start the day)
Get showered/around before going into work for some overtime. Leave a little bit early and tell my girlfriend I'm going to the bank to deposit my check when really I am going to buy the engagement ring we looked at a couple weeks back.(stoked about this by the way) So I get the ring picked out again (made sure it was right too cause I had the sales lady write down the item number when we were there before), paid for the ring, and sent it in to be sized and lady says I'll have it back within two weeks.
So far, great! Work wasn't bad today either, plus it was overtime pay.. Then when I get done with work I come home, do the throttle cable mod, and come inside to relax till Kendrae(my girlfriend) comes home from her mom's. Cook dinner, sex again before we take her to work.
Go to my buddy's house to fix the latch on his glove box(fucking probe) and change the oil in my truck.
This is the best part! I notice there is blue stuff on my bolt to the oil pan. This blue stuff turns out to be lock-tite. I then notice a patch of what looks to be peanut butter on the side of my oil pan. Yeah that "peanut butter" is some weird bondo like substance for metal.. my oilpan was cracked and previous owner did a fucking patch.. While under the truck, I decided to do a more thorough inspection of the underside.. Well my rear leafs are probably some of the rustiest metal I have seen. So we check out my shocks, yeah.. they're worse..
----------
p.s. the patch on oil pan has a slight leak to it..
However, another plus to today, I did receive my OHC and will probably install it before I fix anything since I already have it..

LOL! I knew someone was going to say something about that..
you should check out the patch though.. I'm not so worried about the oil pan though because it looks like its about $50 bucks for the new oil pan itself.. Its more the suspension that I'm worried about..

Shocks are nothing, just spend a few bucks extra and buy some good ones! Did you get the OHC?

Yeah it came in today, that was my plan for Monday night. Now I might not get around to it right away..
What are some good shocks/leaf springs that aren't a fortune?

Leafs rust but rarely have to be replaced. They are made for flexing and stuff like that. As far as shocks I have heard billsteins are good but pricey. Just do some research and throw a thread out asking what people have and how the like them.

Well, thats good to hear that the leafs usually don't need replaced..
And I guess I'm already one step ahead then, started a thread in the suspension forum..

I was really expecting you to say you got the ring, then came home to find your girlfriend in a gang bang.
But your story isn't as bad as you think.

Re: just another day in my life..(don't mind the ranting)
lol, definitely not too bad of a day at all. Would have been worse without the sex.
However, if you don't fix your rusty leaf shackles, you may have a really bad day when they break apart, depending on the severity.
Oh, and I hear you on oil pan patches. Previous owner of my F100 used a castle nut and carriage bolt as a drain plug. He ended up breaking the thread piece off the sheet metal of the pan and stripped the threads. Ended up just getting a brand new oil pan and installing it. That was a bitch.

+ 1. He's obviously in the early phase of the relationship. I remember those days -- now referred to as BM or BK (Before Marriage or Before Kids). Anyway, not to ruin the thread but congrats. I totally surprised my wife when I proposed since we talked about marriage, but we didn't pick out a ring together beforehand. I proposed with $14.99 costume jewelry, and she was so excited she put the ring on the wrong finger and didn't realize it wasn't real. (I told her the truth that I didn't know her size, and we shopped the next day).
